Purchase two of these for our new addition. They do not interfer visually and really move the air. They are so guite that unless you look up you forget that they are on.

I purchased this fan for my bedroom, which does not have a very high ceiling. I wanted a very simple fan that would be as visually unobtrusive as possible, and as quiet as possible. This fan scored on both accounts. There is nothing flashy about the fan, it really blends into the ceiling and is super quiet. It makes my room so much cooler, I swear I sleep better now with it on. Highly recommend this fan.

Great fan for the garage or the house -- 2010-08-10
This is a great fan. It is just what you need in the garage or the house. It is fairly quiet. I keep the radio on low in the garage and I had no trouble hearing the music or talking over the fan. This is a good product.
Great looking modern fan -- 2010-07-19
This fan is amazing. It was a breeze to put together and install. It looks amazing and functions well. I ended placing a dimmer on the switch board for different speeds because the one that is supplied is huge and bulky and unattractive. This was our only complaint since we have a mimimalistic decor on our townhouse. I would recommend this item to anyone looking for an inexpensive, modern, ultra-chic fan for any modern/contemporary decor.

Fan is o.k., but is very cheaply made. We bought it to replace a Hunter fan that was 14 years old, which we just loved. We figured the quality would be similar, since it's a Hunter, but it is not. This one works, but the motor bangs against the housing when you change speeds, so we have to turn it off to change the speed.
Very quiet and easy on the wallet -- 2010-08-02
I really wanted a 4 blade white "hugger" ceiling fan... not easy to find. Most ceiling fans are 5 blade in the low-profile-hugger models. This Hunter fan seemed just right for a bedroom/8ft ceiling install. It is safely high enough and looks a bit retro. I'm very happy with the purchase and ease of assembly, provided you read the instructions... really... read the instructions.
The reviews on Amazon were very helpful in selecting this fan. The points people make about the housing not sitting against the ceiling are valid, it actually is about a half inch or less from the ceiling, but this is part of the quietness. There are four rubber bumpers that keep the housing/cover at a particular distance from the ceiling. This is all part of why the fan is so... so... very quiet.
I used a Westinghouse ceiling fan brace (see my other review about that product). The biggest cost for me was the electrician who ran a new electrical line to the ceiling fan, wired to a Lutron 3-speed fan (Specific) wall switch. This provides three speeds from the wall switch, those setting are varied by the three speed settings for the pull chain on the fan... in short, if you want the fan to spin really slow, I recommend you go this route. I'm happy we didn't go with a remote control even though it increased costs.

Decent fan for the $ -- 2010-08-28
We have two fans like this in the living room and had to replace one. This newer one seems to be quieter than the older model. One difference is that the newer model takes the candlebra bulbs and the older model takes the standard bulb. So ours don't match in that regard, but oh well!
Great Fan -- 2010-08-16
This fan is a great buy. Looks nice, good air circulation, good price. The only thing I don't like about this fan (I bought the brushed nickel) is the light side of the blades looks very fake-it does not look like real wood at all due to the pattern on it, so I would never have that side down. Other than that, I'm very happy with it.

This fan is PERFECT in my son's baseball themed room! I absolutely love it and so does he. He is 10 so I was afraid it might be a little babyish but I was wrong. He thinks it's the "coolest" fan ever!

I bought this for my grandson's bedroom and he loves it. My daughter and I assembled and installed it. Some reviews complained about a scraping noise when the fan was used and dificulty assembling. We did not have those problems. The fan is shipped with little plastic blocks to stabilize the motor during shipping. I wonder if people didn't remove them before attaching the fan blades. Not removing them would cause both problems!
I was not happy with the pull chains as there were no extensions included so they are very short. Perhaps it is a how they get you to buy the baseball ones that are sold separately! So far that seems to be the only negative.

Nicely Designed Fan, But....... -- 2010-08-29
I would have given this fan a 5 star rating but I was slightly disappointed on one point. It has great eye appeal, easy to install, but the "high speed" setting on this fan is equivalent to a medium speed on other fans. You really have to situate yourself directly under the fan in order to receive the benefit of the air flow. I was going to tear this thing out and replace it with one that blew a greater volume of air, but my wife would have none of that. She told me that she liked the design of the fan so much that the functionality was a moot point. She said that if the fan went, I had to go also! I,m still deciding what to do........

We purchased this fan for use in one son's room. I am purchasing another one today to put in our other son's room. The remote is awesome, the fan is quiet and efficient. You do get what you pay for!

Quiet, easy install -- 2010-09-06
I have installed many ceiling fans in my lifetime. This fan installs fast and easy. The blades "click' in - no dealing with those pesky fan screws. It is darn quiet/silent. The only issue is with the remote and the instructions. There is no info on how to change the fan direction. The answer is when the fan IS spinning in one direction HOLD down the reverse button until you see the fan slow down. The fan will eventually slow, stop, and change direction. Great fan. Great price.
Exceeds Expectations -- 2010-08-18
The Minke Aire unit has exceeded all my expectations. The unit performs flawlessly and moves a lot of air with very little noise. It has a low profile which makes it ideal for use with low ceilings. It is compact, quiet and easily controlled with a hand held remote switch.
