Awesome bang for the buck -- 2010-09-06
I have few complaints about this unit. I use it as a small desk fan and it does the job. While hard to complain about, a minor complaint would be that I would like a slightly wider stream of air, despite knowing how small the unit is. Other than that, it's a no-nonsense quiet fan with easy digital controls. I would recommend this to anyone that needs a desk fan or a fan for a small area of use.

I am happy with the fan overall. The only complaint that I have is that due to its small size and lack of weight it takes two hands to operate the push button controls.

Almost Superb - Air Stream Too Narrow -- 2010-08-31
Note: using this blower under the dinner/picnic table is a great way to keep diners comfortable without cooling down food and blowing around napkins.
As the other reviews state, this is a very good blower. It's lightweight, powerful, and quiet. I just wish you could adjust the width of the air stream it produces. We use this blower primarily on the deck to keep cool and prevent mosquitoes from landing on us (as well as the occasional drying job or working outdoors). The blower does this well, except since the air stream is so narrow, only one, maybe two people can enjoy it at a time. I would gladly sacrifice some power for wider coverage. I also wish there was a fourth, very low setting (in addition to the high, medium, and low), so we could use this blower as a personal fan comfortably (it's usually too strong for that even when set on low). Otherwise, if you added a remote and oscillation, it could be the world's greatest fan!

Cheap plastic -- 2010-09-02
What I couldn't tell from the pictures, and I didn't see mentioned in any of the reviews I read (I didn't read all of them, maybe 10 or so) is the entire fan cage/grill is PLASTIC that snaps together. It doesn't look too bad in the picture but in real life it looks SUPER cheap. The fan cage/grill SNAPS together, I don't know how I feel about that if it's going to come apart if it's bumped into.
Quick shipping by Amazon, and an affordable price, but if had known it was all PLASTIC and not a metal wire cage I would NOT have bought this. Honestly the only reason I bought it from Amazon is all the local stores ran out of stand fans. If I had seen this in a store I would have kept walking.
Only time will tell if my wife decides this thing is too cheap & tacky looking to stay in the living room. I suspect it will get migrated to a guest bedroom and I will be buying a better fan in the near future.

This item is fan-tastic and moves a lot of air with minimal noise. Made in the USA for those people to whom this is important.

I have bought similar priced store fans that use ~10-30 Watts and they all don't move as much air as I would like (and were also noisier). This fan has a more pleasing whir and moves air at the level I want. I especially recommend this for people with apartments where one room is cool, but the other room is far warmer due to lack of circulation. Since this is close to 1 inefficient light bulb in terms of power usage, I thought posting the wattages might help people decide if this fan is worth it. On the one hand I can light every corner of my apartment for less power, but it is way better than running 2 wall air conditioners. There is an excellent video review of a similar model the 3723, and everything in that review applies to this fan minus the premium ring of plastic in the case. Also has a pretty good power factor near 1 at all 3 speeds.

Bought this fan in July and I've have had it working literally non-stop 24/7 during the hottest summer NYC has experienced in many years. I don't have A/C and this has been a lifesaver. Keeps the bedroom a good 10 - 15 degrees cooler at night. Circulates air beautifully. Whisper quiet. I leave it on low during the day and noticed that my apartment does not have that big city "summer smell" when I get home from work. I attribute this to the cooling/drying circulation. I call it the "Tower of Power" and it really is!

I would not reccomend this Lasko tower fan. It is very noisy. It makes a chugging sound on all three settings. After two weeks, I have since retired it to the garage. Get the Miallegro 1760... quiet and smooth.

I decided to purchase a new tower fan after my Sharper Image tower fan started making some unpleasant noises. Although it still works after about 10 years, it was hard to sleep with the noise.
After doing some research I decided to purchase the Lasko. I would have given the Lasko a 5 star rating; however, I am disappointed in the quality of workmanship in this and many other products today. The fan has manufacturing blemishes on it that at first I thought was damage to the fan. Also, when I received it, the back seam was "pulled apart." Fortunately, we could snap it back in place, but for the price, you do expect that this would not be necessary. I am also somewhat disappointed with the remote. It is not sensitive like my old remote on the Sharper Image fan. You absolutely must point it correctly to make changes to the fan. It is a little hard to do in the dark.
The above points aside, so far, the fan has worked properly and goes through all of its cycles fine and is quiet. The fan was very easy to assemble and the instructions were clear. I just hope that it lasts as long as my old fan and I will be perfectly happy.

We were in the market for a new oscillating fan. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this one. It is extremely quiet, sturdy and durable. Love the remote and 3 speeds also. Slim design and coloring make it disappear into the decor.
