 | Crane 2.3 Gallon COOL Mist humidifier
Crane works very well -- 2010-09-02 This humidifier is much better than the ones I grew up with as a child. It is really quiet, if it wasn't for the mist you wouldn't even be able to tell that it is on. I also like the automatic shut off if the water runs out. You do have to clean it once a week, but that beats spending money on a filter every week. After awhile the savings on not buying filters can add up. Filters are supposed to last longer than that but we have a lot of minerals in our water. With our old humidifier, the filters used to get really crusted up with mineral deposits. I really like this humidifier! I was so tired of constantly having to buy filters every week in order use my old humidifier, so when the motor finally blew it was a blessing. I decided that I would not buy another unless it was filterless. I thought my search would take forever, but just a few clicks on the internet and I found this Humidifier. there were a lot of postive reveiws, which made me feel better.
Great Cool Mist Humidifier for Rooms -- 2010-08-31 This is a great little humidifier for rooms up to 20 x 20, maybe a little more space--but only if it is entirely enclosed. Any more space than that and you may be asking too much of this unit. It pours out humidified air nice and quiet. It could be easier to refill, the conical shape of the removable water reservoir is a bit odd, and because of this shape you must hold up the reservoir while you refill it.

Great Customer Service -- 2010-08-29 The humidifier broke after 4 months, so I called their customer service and they told me to just cut the electrical cord and mail that in. They sent me a new humidifier after 2 weeks. It was so easy! Now, truth be told, I'm not sure how well the humidifier mists the room. I haven't tested the room's humidity. However the Vicks versions are way too noisy, and this one is silent. And I do notice my son feels better when I use it AND I see his nose drain when I use it. So it must work. Overall, it;s a good product and the Customer Service makes it an outstanding one.
Works great for a while, craps out after one season. -- 2010-08-27 Loved it at first, although keeping the mold out of the base where the water is is constant work, but maybe that's part of humidifier upkeep... this thing started flickering on and off after just one winter season :( Cute as all get out, but doesn't serve it's purpose

 | Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier with Auto Shut-Off
great choice -- 2010-07-14 I really like this product. It works well. It is not loud at all. Every once in a while it will "burp" when it is filling and heating the water but is not bothersome.
After researching many items this one seemed to be what I was looking for and I have not been disappointed.
I was very surprised, however, to see so many less than great reviews. I was shocked and had to throw in my two cents since I think this product is a great choice.
Good quite humidifier -- 2010-06-06 This is a great product for the price. You rarely hear it and it works. I have had problem of stuffy nose for a long time when I wake up. With this product this problem is pretty much gone.

The animals love it! -- 2010-08-31 This humidifier is actually being used at a local animal shelter in one of their isolation rooms. The cats in that room are all sick. It helps them breath better & it seems they are getting better just a little faster.
Humidifier does the job. -- 2010-06-13 This is an excellent humidifier. It has one added advantage - two smaller than usual reservoirs make it easier to refill for those of us who are getting more seasoned - older that is.

 | Westinghouse WDD100 Ultrasonic Humidifier with Aromatherapy, 8-1/2-Ounce Tank
Great little diffuser -- 2010-08-15 I bought this because it looked just like the Young Living essential oil diffuser but 1/2 the cost. It works great. I liked it so much I bought one for my mom for her birthday and she loves it. Her sister just called wanting to know how she can get one, too. It's stylish, silent, compact, has the option of mood lighting, and delivers just the right amount of oils into the air (I used 5 drops of oil). I've had it for about 1 1/2 months and have used it regularly. I haven't cleaned it yet, although it's probably time. It doesn't look like it needs it so maybe that has something to do with the minerals in your water.
This is a great little item! -- 2010-08-10 I bought this a few months back & use it regularly. It's quiet, very nice to look at when running (changes colors) and releases just the right amount of scent. You can set it to turn off in 30 minutes. It's very easy to take apart and clean. I would definitely recommend it!

 | Boveda Humidifier 72%
Sweet product -- 2010-06-21 I have a decently large collection in several humidors and these packets make it easy to keep my cigars at the proper humidity level. They also allow me to forget about the task of checking.. Almost too well. ;)
What am I doing wrong????? -- 2010-02-25 As per the instructions for my 50 cigar humidor I placed 3 of these(the 72 percent) and just waited for the miracle to take place. The following day I checked on them and saw it was at 63 percent! Yes, my humidor was keeping at 70 percent using the distilled water humidifier technique. I checked it with another humidors and it came up with the same results. The second was a 20 cigar humidor!

 | SPT SU-4010 Ultrasonic Dual-Mist Warm/Cool Humidifier with Ion Exchange Filter
Winner -- 2010-06-30 I have had this humidifier for about a month now, and I love it. I live in Utah where it is very dry, which is hard on my allergy prone nose. I got tired of waking up with dry sinuses, and a sore throat, so I finally decided to buy a humidifier for my bedroom. After reading all of the reviews I picked this one, and haven't been disappointed. It's wonderful. I turn it on about two hours before bed, and leave it on a medium all night. My bedroom will stay around 45%, or higher humididy; my skin and sinuses have never been so happy! It's gives off a nice ultra fine mist. I haven't noticed any mugginess, and my hair doesn't frizz.
It did take some trial and error to figure out where to put the humidifier in the room, and where to set the dial. I turned it up high, and put it too close to the bed one night and it soaked my bedding, but that was my fault. I haven't had any problems with leaks. It is pretty quiet, mine burbles slightly (light fish tank like sound) but I don't have any trouble sleeping with it on.
I have only used distilled water, and haven't had any white dust form at all. The only slight negative is if you choose to use distilled water, be prepared to buy A LOT of it! Mine goes through a gallon per day.
Great Humidifier -- 2010-06-29 I really like this humidifier. I've used humidifiers off and on since childhood, most I've used are "steamers". This is the first cool/warm mist unit I've tried.
I'd give it 3 1/2 or 4 stars.
Features: adjustable saturation, detachable two-directional vapor nozzle, off-cold-warm control, internal de-ionizing filter, about 1 gallon capacity reservoir, indicators for "power" and "low water". The controls and indicators are easy to use and understand. The writing is a bit small (I wear reading glasses now but have good eyes otherwise).
The unit works best with the vapor nozzle installed, it accelerates the mist and allows you to direct where the mist goes. Without the nozzle it looks "really cool" but mist condenses on the surfaces of the unit and surrounding items.
The reservoir is an open-bottom design (remove filter from bottom and fill), it sits on top of the rest of the unit. If it is not properly installed, or if the filter is not properly installed, the unit may leak. You have to be a little quick removing and replacing the reservoir, but it has a nice handle and isn't that hard to deal with as long as you remember to pick it up quickly.
I imagine it has potential for "white dust", using deionized water should help, and should help make the filters last longer.
It's summer, in the Mojave. I have this set-up so the cool mist (low saturation) drifts over my desk. I can feel the moisture and coolness.

 | Air-O-Swiss AOS Ultrasonic Humidifier - 7135
For this price, I expected a longer life -- 2010-08-01 I bought one of these units less than 2 years ago. Yes, when it works, it is great! Great fine mist. But reliability is an issue. The first one lasted less than a year. It would no longer make mist. I mailed it back in at my expense. They sent me a reconditioned unit. It lasted less than a year and now does not work! It requires more maintenance than some children. During the last year, I had to replace the water tank because it developed a hairline crack. I had to replace the demineralization cartridge because it leaked granules into the unit. It must be cleaned every two weeks with the EZCal (and I use it only at night; probably more often if you keep it on all the time). The granules have to be replaced every three months. The silver stick has to be replaced every year. Lots of money for replacement stuff; lots of time spent in maintenance. It is like buying shoes for a growing child. The costs never stop.
I will try again to return it under the 3 year warranty. But at $25 a pop to return the unit by mail it is expensive to keep returning the defective units.
If you ignore this warning and buy the unit anyway, take my advice and keep the shipping materials. You will be reusing them.
Ours is 3 yrs old and going strong -- 2010-07-07 I've used a number of humidifiers over the years - all hard to clean, and quick to break. The Air-O-Swiss is exceptional! Well worth the price.
We've used it for 3 years now, every night and sometimes during the day. It might help that we've always used distilled water, or bottled spring water in a pinch. No tap water. It's easy to clean. We replace the filter every 9 months or so, along with the ion stick.
We've had no dust and no water damage from it. It is quiet. Best of all, it has reduced our sinus problems. Before getting this humidifier, I used to get bronchitis at least once a year, and am convinced sleeping in humidified air has helped. Even coughing colds are not as long-lasting or frequent.
Highly recommend! If ours ever stops working, will definitely be buying another.

 | Travel Ultrasonic Humidifier
Cute and convenient -- 2010-05-10 The unit is lightweight and easy to travel with. Like others have noted, there is a slight hum from the motor but not loud enough to bother me. The blue light lights up the entire spout, and can reflect through the entire water bottle which is a bit too bright for me for sleeping (I like to sleep in complete darkness). However, I simply put the humidifier in the hotel bathroom, which comes in handy as a nightlight, and leave the bathroom door open. On a recent trip to Denver I noticed a clear difference in humidity between having it on/off. I have also been using it in my office daily which is quite nice. One water bottle lasts throughout the work day on the medium level. And compared to my full-size Sunbeam cool mist humidifier, it doesn't leave my furniture/carpet all wet. However, like others have noted, some water bottles will not fit (e.g. Dasani makes theirs a little wider) but most do. It would be nice if we could shut off the light. Also I wish the plug on the AC adapter could fold down for ease of transport (I worry about putting it in the same pouch as the unit). However, despite its minor flaws, I still love it and would definitely buy it again!
Works great so far, just got a while ago -- 2010-04-15 I would like to say that the unit is as described and though my bf using for short time is only, very pleased with it.

 | Duracraft DWM250 2-1/2-Gallon Warm-Mist Humidifier
It's a cheap piece of equipment.....and it works just fine! -- 2010-08-19 I'll be brief. This is a bargain-basement item. But it actually works! It only has 2 settings (Low & High) but if you put it on Low, it can run overnight. If you put it on High, it will empty out after only 4 hours but you will be living in a tropical jungle until then.
And it hasn't broken yet, either. As long as you do a DEEP cleaning once a month, it will keep working and you will be fine. The cleaning will take a good 30 minutes to do but....it costs you nothing! YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY ANY SPECIALIZED CLEANING MATERIALS OR FILTERS! That is tremendous, since most filters and materials could end up costing more than the humidifier itself after only the first year. All you need is bleach, vinegar, water, scrubbing sponge and some elbow grease. Everybody already has these items in their kitchen.
It's a good purchase in this difficult economy.
OK, but small, I measured the capacity of this unit -- 2010-07-20 I've had my humidifier for over a year and it's worked well in that time. It doesn't hold a lot of water. A moment ago I filled the reservoir within a centimeter of the top with water and measured the result and I found it held 88 US fluid ounces (0.6875 US gallons.) Although it was much smaller than expected when I received it, and I felt the description was misleading, the unit performs well. It's not too loud for me at all. On high, it usually runs out of water before the night is through. I tend to run it on high when I'm awake and refill as necessary and run it on low when asleep. I've actually never cleaned it (bad me) and it does have some mineral deposit 'junk' that leaks out the side sometimes. It tends to increase the humidity of a room a little bit, it can get my 11% humidity room up (living room/dining room without carpet) to 20% on the high setting usually if the windows are shut. The machine usually works well. Sometimes it seems I don't press a button completely and it doesn't start when it should. The handle you carry the water by seems flimsy and likely to break at any minute. I usually hold the water container by the bottom as well as the top handle to prevent any accidents. Overall, though, if you are looking for a .6875 capacity unit (not a 2.5 gallon unit), and you want a bare bones humidifier that will humidify a small room, you will probably be happy with this.
