 | Panasonic NI-S300TR 1200-Watt Steam Iron with Curved Titanium-Coated Soleplate, White/Green
Good Iron -- 2010-09-01 so far is working very good. It is light weight and one of the best features is the retractable cord, it makes it much more easy to storage.
Fantastic iron -- 2010-08-24 Watch out Rowenta ... the $23 Panasonic is a VERY capable adversary!
If you actually enjoy ironing, and find it therapeutic, as I do ... then you know what your high standards demand. A smooth glide along both axes, reliable steam bursts that do not create a puddle, a misting jet spray, and above all, a truly non-sticking soleplate. Well, used to be that you had to spend $50+ for an entry level Rowenta to get all that.
The Panasonic NI-S300TR makes it all possible, and under $25. It has just the right weight and the glide is effortless. I was skeptical of two things about the soleplate: curving and its titanium construction (I thought they were useless gimmicks). I stand corrected. The curved soleplate means that no matter which direction you glide the iron in, it will not bunch up material underneath it. I also thought that nothing could surpass stainless steel in its non-stickiness. Again, wrong. This iron delivers the same crisp finish of a stainless steel plate.
I highly recommend this iron. I may even buy one more as a backup in case Panasonic discontinues this model.

 | Panasonic NI-C78SR Steam/Dry Iron with Stainless-Steel Soleplate
Love This Iron -- 2010-09-03 I was pleasantly pleased with this iron. The retractable cord allows for better storage, and so far has worked very smoothly. I also like the removable water storage container--it allows for easier removal of water when done with ironing. This iron also removes wrinkles better than any other iron I've used! It is a little heavier, but I wonder if this extra weight adds to the ability to remove wrinkles better! After the first few times using it, I'm now accustomed to the extra weight.
Replaced my Rowenta & can't believe I'm still happy with a Panasonic.. -- 2010-08-26 Initially, I was nervous about replacing my Rowenta. As a former seamstress and sewing teacher, I was madly in love with the Rowenta company for years. However, in recent years, like others, I discovered that Rowenta irons are simply NOT the same iron as in years past. The quality is missing and I think company pride was lost somewhere along the way.
I always paid a good price for an iron, never under $100. I needed a dependable iron with good steaming function and was glad to pay for one that would last me years. However, when my last Rowenta died, I decided that since I was no longer totally involved in the sewing profession, I would settle for a decent iron with a lower price tag.
I depended on the Amazon.com reviews and was quite nervous when I decided to buy this Panasonic NI-C78SR Steam/Dry iron. I figured that at only $35 and free shipping, if it died in a couple of months, I wouldn't be out much anyway. I can't believe this iron! Even overnight guests that used it, commented on the steaming and good press that this iron gave their clothing.
PROS: NICE steam -flat or vertical, detachable water tank, stainless steel soleplate, auto shut-off, retractable cord and more. GREAT PRICE.
CONS: Only 1. I would love it if the water tank didn't have to be filled so frequently (compared to other irons I've owned). I keep a sports water bottle nearby to fill quickly.
I've owned this iron 5 months now and I still give this iron 5 stars because of all the PROS.

 | T-Fal FV4379 Ultraglide Easycord Nonstick Iron, Red
Good Quality Iron -- 2010-08-31 I did some research on irons looking for a better iron but not too pricy. Saw this one as one of the better irons out there. Very happy with it. Heats up fast, lots of steam, light-weight. No complaints!
Nice Iron -- 2010-08-30 Has room at the bottom of the iron to wrap the cord around it without worrying that you are wrapping it around the heating source. Weird spring device for the cord is suppose to offer extra cord length but I could not figure this out or see the benefit as it only gave me an extra 2 inches of cord. Lots of steam. Very large capacity for water. Instructions say absolutely no distilled water and to only use tap water. Light. Ironing time seems to have decreased because I only pass over areas once instead of twice like before with my old (highly rated) iron. The red color is a deep red. No on/off switch- you must unplug it. The cord moves easily as you are ironing so that it is never in your way and you never have to think about it. The iron is very tall because of the extra length added at the bottom for you to wrap the cord around.

 | Rowenta DZ5080 Focus Stainless-Steel 1700-Watt Iron
Rowenta iron -- 2010-09-03 I was in the market to replace an older rowenta iron that had given us good service.
The specs on this model (DZ5080) appeared to be just the replacement that we needed.
Indeed, we are pleased with our purchase and it was priced reasonably.
Best Iron -- 2010-08-29 This is the best iron I have ever owned. It was the "recommend" model in Consumer Reports and they are not right on every recommendation but they are with this one.

 | SteamFast SF-717 Home-and-Away Mini Steam Iron
Travel Iron -- 2010-08-31 I love this iron. I purchased it to take on my cruise this year. It was PERFECT !!
Short Life -- 2010-08-25 I purchased this iron 10 months ago and have used it only on four trips overseas; the non stick coating on the sole plate is now begining to peel off at the edges. The surface is rough so I can not iron anything in fear of tearing the fabric -- the manufacturer has agreed to replace the iron, but I have to pay for shipping. What a bummer! Marginally worth the postage for a replacement. Will the new iron last for one year ??

 | Black & Decker F1060 Steam Advantage Iron with Stainless-Steel Soleplate
1st one died, 2nd one died -- 2010-08-31 Ok, so I buy one, it dies after 4 months...then I buy the exact one, thinking that the first was a fluke, and the 2nd one dies after 6 months of use. AVOID THE HEADACHE.
Overall good iron -- 2010-08-30 Price is great, stainless steel plate works great on my fabric without too much damage. The only small issue is that the dial is a bit stiff to turn. A design flaw. I think ridges may have helped to turn the dials a little easier than the rubberized version they have here. Overall, I can't complain though as the price is worth it.

 | Rowenta DW8080 Pro Master Iron
Extremely thorough review -- 2010-09-03 After spending about 4-5 days (pathetic, I know.....but I'm very thorough) researching irons a few years back (and getting the Black & Decker D2020, which I was very satisfied with), I now needed a new one. Fortunately, my previous research narrowed the playing field to B&D's and Rowenta's, so I was able to conclude my research much quicker this time. After going through each model that each company makes, and reading all reviews on the Amazon site for each model at least twice, and looking at comments at several other sites as well, I concluded the following:
1. The B&D D2020 was a very unique iron in that the percentage of positive reviews it received compared to negative ones were astonishing....and all it cost was $35. Unfortunately, they discontinued the model several years back, and none of the new models even come close to the D2020. The newer models, (the D6000 series in particular) are bulkier, don't work nearly as well, and have a strange water filling position where you need to hold the hot iron while you fill it. Still, if you need a good iron and are only willing to pay $40, this is the iron you want.
2. The Rowenta DW8080 is the best iron on the market today for $100 or less.
3. There are a couple of issues like a. a similarly strange water filling position....which ended up not bothering me nearly as much as I originally thought it would b. The handle is rather thick for an iron. It didn't bother me in the slightest, but it may bother someone with tiny hands c. The cord is short, as others have mentioned, but if you have an outlet relatively close to the ironing board (as I'm sure most people do), it's a non-issue d. The iron needs constant, and I mean constant, refilling of water. This is directly related to the amount of steam and water spray you use, and I use a ton of it. I end up having to refill the water tank every 2 shirts. If you use starch instead of spray, or don't like steam, it may last like 4-5 shirts before needing a refill. e. Durability. I have only had the iron for about a month so it's too early to tell how long it may last, but several people complained that it died or leaked terribly after about 12-18 months. However, bear in mind that if the iron works fine for a few years, virtually noone will come back to write a review saying that it's a good iron that lasted a long time. You will generally only hear long-term feedback/complaints from those whose irons died early f. The spray button is on the right of the steam surge button, which is a bit strange, but its not that hard to get used to. g. The iron is not digital, and the transition from a digital iron to this is a bit strange as you feel you are taking a "step-down", even though, in all likelihhod, it's a better iron than your previous one.
4. If you want the best possible product after ironing and are not concerned with any of the above issues, this is the iron you want to get, hands down. The shirts look amazing, better than they would look after the dry cleaners, and as someone who frequently re-irons shirts after they come back from the cleaners, I would know. The ironing itself is very enjoyable with the DW8080 as the steam is so powerful that you see the burst coming through the other side of the ironing board, and it looks a bit like the Broadway shows where the floor is covered in steam or fog. It's a powerful machine and very enjoyable to operate. I thought the B&D D2020 had a lot of steam, but this has significantly more and the clothing come out much, much better than they did with the B&D.
5. Unless the price of the DW9080 comes down, I don't think their claims of "30% more steam" justify the 30% increase in price. I am very happy with the DW8080 and believe that it produces as much steam as anyone could ever want. Similarly, there are many complaints with the cheaper Rowenta models made in China. I would avoid those and go with this model instead.
Hope you enjoyed the review!
Great But..... -- 2010-09-01 I just had DW8080, and did a load of shirts and pants, the iron did a great job, steam was great and long, like others said it runs out of water very fast, the only bad thing which i think its a major issue is the water drops or leaks, i notice few big drops on shirts, I don't know where its leaking from.

 | Panasonic Cordless Steam/Dry Iron
Free of cord at last -- 2010-08-31 No longer does the cord drag over the shirt to be ironed! Iron heats rapidly, has high heat and steam that removes wrinkles, stainless steel sole plate glides over fabric, water tank large and easily filled and the retractable cord plus plastic removable outside cover simplifies storage. Replacing iron on charging stand is natural movement. Iron slightly heavier than cord iron because of added metal to retain heat.
Nice Iron -- 2010-08-17 Good weight forr a cordless iron. Does a nice job on the clothes. Would recomend.

 | T-Fal FV3056003 Prima Iron
Prima Iron is a great buy! -- 2010-08-30 I am a quilter and I go through alot of irons.(at least 1 a year) The price of this iron was great, it feels good in your hand, holds a good amount of water and steams real well. Its hard to find an iron that doesn't turn itself off when not being used, this one is no exception to that, but it comes back on quickly and heats back up fast. All in all Its a good iron. I don't know about longevity yet, time will tell!!
Excellent Iron for the money. -- 2010-07-26 We had a new Hamilton-Beach from Wally world, it was total junk. This iron heats fast, has nice balance and weight, holds a lot of water, does not leak and steams like a locomotive. I've only used it one week, so I cannot speak to long term durability but I'll be happy if I get only a year or two.

 | Rowenta DW9080 Steamium 1800-Watt Steam Iron with 400-Hole Platinum Soleplate
Amazing ironing results -- 2010-09-03 I just got this iron to replace a 13 year old Rowenta, also made in Germany. I love the needle nose. It's very heavy, heavier than my older model (which was heavy). It did a fabulous job on cotton dress shirts and on cotton slacks, much better than my other iron. It has an automatic steam function, which means you don't set the amount of steam you want. It's automatically set by the fabric setting you choose. I was a little dismayed at first, because it doesn't seem to put off any visable steam. However, it does iron the clothes well. The bottom has VERY TINY holes all the way from the tip of the iron to the heel. You can add steam in two ways. The burst of steam is huge, if you push down all the way, but you can push lightly and it will put out a smaller amount.
I was very impressed with the final product after ironing. My husband has some very uncooperative cotton slacks, which never seem to want to give up the wrinkles, and this iron took care of that easily.
Don't be fooled into buying an inexpensive Rowenta. You get what you pay for. The cheaper ones are made in China. This one is made in Germany.
I've only used it twice but it made short work of ironing. I'm actually looking forward to ironing the next time......and I've never said that before.
Rowenta Steamium -- 2010-09-02 This is by far the best iron that I have ever used. I received the iron in 2 days. It was pack very well. No dings or damage on the box. I opened the iron, filled it with tap water like the quick start instructions stated. Basically you just turn the knob on the iron to the type of fabric that you are ironing and it will light up on the handle as you turn the knob. The shirts and clothes that I have ironed feel just like it was ironed at the dry cleaners. This iron may actually end up saving me far more money than I anticipated from not wasting money on dry cleaning.
