 | Rowenta DZ5080 Focus Stainless-Steel 1700-Watt Iron
Rowenta iron -- 2010-09-03 I was in the market to replace an older rowenta iron that had given us good service.
The specs on this model (DZ5080) appeared to be just the replacement that we needed.
Indeed, we are pleased with our purchase and it was priced reasonably.
Best Iron -- 2010-08-29 This is the best iron I have ever owned. It was the "recommend" model in Consumer Reports and they are not right on every recommendation but they are with this one.

 | Rowenta DW8080 Pro Master Iron
Extremely thorough review -- 2010-09-03 After spending about 4-5 days (pathetic, I know.....but I'm very thorough) researching irons a few years back (and getting the Black & Decker D2020, which I was very satisfied with), I now needed a new one. Fortunately, my previous research narrowed the playing field to B&D's and Rowenta's, so I was able to conclude my research much quicker this time. After going through each model that each company makes, and reading all reviews on the Amazon site for each model at least twice, and looking at comments at several other sites as well, I concluded the following:
1. The B&D D2020 was a very unique iron in that the percentage of positive reviews it received compared to negative ones were astonishing....and all it cost was $35. Unfortunately, they discontinued the model several years back, and none of the new models even come close to the D2020. The newer models, (the D6000 series in particular) are bulkier, don't work nearly as well, and have a strange water filling position where you need to hold the hot iron while you fill it. Still, if you need a good iron and are only willing to pay $40, this is the iron you want.
2. The Rowenta DW8080 is the best iron on the market today for $100 or less.
3. There are a couple of issues like a. a similarly strange water filling position....which ended up not bothering me nearly as much as I originally thought it would b. The handle is rather thick for an iron. It didn't bother me in the slightest, but it may bother someone with tiny hands c. The cord is short, as others have mentioned, but if you have an outlet relatively close to the ironing board (as I'm sure most people do), it's a non-issue d. The iron needs constant, and I mean constant, refilling of water. This is directly related to the amount of steam and water spray you use, and I use a ton of it. I end up having to refill the water tank every 2 shirts. If you use starch instead of spray, or don't like steam, it may last like 4-5 shirts before needing a refill. e. Durability. I have only had the iron for about a month so it's too early to tell how long it may last, but several people complained that it died or leaked terribly after about 12-18 months. However, bear in mind that if the iron works fine for a few years, virtually noone will come back to write a review saying that it's a good iron that lasted a long time. You will generally only hear long-term feedback/complaints from those whose irons died early f. The spray button is on the right of the steam surge button, which is a bit strange, but its not that hard to get used to. g. The iron is not digital, and the transition from a digital iron to this is a bit strange as you feel you are taking a "step-down", even though, in all likelihhod, it's a better iron than your previous one.
4. If you want the best possible product after ironing and are not concerned with any of the above issues, this is the iron you want to get, hands down. The shirts look amazing, better than they would look after the dry cleaners, and as someone who frequently re-irons shirts after they come back from the cleaners, I would know. The ironing itself is very enjoyable with the DW8080 as the steam is so powerful that you see the burst coming through the other side of the ironing board, and it looks a bit like the Broadway shows where the floor is covered in steam or fog. It's a powerful machine and very enjoyable to operate. I thought the B&D D2020 had a lot of steam, but this has significantly more and the clothing come out much, much better than they did with the B&D.
5. Unless the price of the DW9080 comes down, I don't think their claims of "30% more steam" justify the 30% increase in price. I am very happy with the DW8080 and believe that it produces as much steam as anyone could ever want. Similarly, there are many complaints with the cheaper Rowenta models made in China. I would avoid those and go with this model instead.
Hope you enjoyed the review!
Great But..... -- 2010-09-01 I just had DW8080, and did a load of shirts and pants, the iron did a great job, steam was great and long, like others said it runs out of water very fast, the only bad thing which i think its a major issue is the water drops or leaks, i notice few big drops on shirts, I don't know where its leaking from.

 | Rowenta DW9080 Steamium 1800-Watt Steam Iron with 400-Hole Platinum Soleplate
Amazing ironing results -- 2010-09-03 I just got this iron to replace a 13 year old Rowenta, also made in Germany. I love the needle nose. It's very heavy, heavier than my older model (which was heavy). It did a fabulous job on cotton dress shirts and on cotton slacks, much better than my other iron. It has an automatic steam function, which means you don't set the amount of steam you want. It's automatically set by the fabric setting you choose. I was a little dismayed at first, because it doesn't seem to put off any visable steam. However, it does iron the clothes well. The bottom has VERY TINY holes all the way from the tip of the iron to the heel. You can add steam in two ways. The burst of steam is huge, if you push down all the way, but you can push lightly and it will put out a smaller amount.
I was very impressed with the final product after ironing. My husband has some very uncooperative cotton slacks, which never seem to want to give up the wrinkles, and this iron took care of that easily.
Don't be fooled into buying an inexpensive Rowenta. You get what you pay for. The cheaper ones are made in China. This one is made in Germany.
I've only used it twice but it made short work of ironing. I'm actually looking forward to ironing the next time......and I've never said that before.
Rowenta Steamium -- 2010-09-02 This is by far the best iron that I have ever used. I received the iron in 2 days. It was pack very well. No dings or damage on the box. I opened the iron, filled it with tap water like the quick start instructions stated. Basically you just turn the knob on the iron to the type of fabric that you are ironing and it will light up on the handle as you turn the knob. The shirts and clothes that I have ironed feel just like it was ironed at the dry cleaners. This iron may actually end up saving me far more money than I anticipated from not wasting money on dry cleaning.

 | Rowenta DG5030 Pressure Iron and Steamer
Makes ironing fun -- 2010-08-23 I tried my new Rowenta Pressure Iron & Steamer this morning. Oh my gosh!!!! I actually went searching for more things to iron. Not since the old days of starching, sprinkling, rolling, and waiting have I produced such a good ironing job. I didn't have to shake the iron to coax steam out. Thank you Rowenta!!!
Terrific Iron! -- 2010-08-02 This iron is worth its weight in gold. Finally, an iron that doesn't leak all over the item being ironed. And it irons on a whole different level. Garments look like they have been ironed professionally. Makes ironing a pleasure!

 | Rowenta IS9100 Commercial Garment Steamer
What a shame! This would be the perfect steamer - if it produced steam... -- 2010-08-12 I don't usually take time to write product reviews, but I'm so disappointed by this one I wanted to help save other buyers from a mistake. This would be the absolute best garment steamer on the market - IF ONLY it could fulfill its primary function: to produce steam!!! It seems they thought of everything - great accessories, built-in hanger, adjustable height, portability, easy-to-fill, removable, large-capacity water tank, variable steam settings, super-easy assembly, etc, etc... The only problem is, the steam output is pathetic. Even on highest steam setting, there is little to no visible steam coming out. I tried it anyway on a couple of garments (a dress and a shirt), and it left them WET and still wrinkled. I even called Rowenta customer service, and they suggested using bottled spring water instead of tap water. So I went out and bought a gallon of spring water, tried it, and no difference. Even if there had been, it wouldn't be the most convenient thing to own a steamer that you had to go out and buy special water for... I'm returning it and will have to look for a different steamer that has the most important feature: steam.
Great steamer... don't expect to replace your iron -- 2010-07-24 Great steamer, though does take up quite a lot of space. But it warms up quickly and billows tons of wrinkle-reducing steam. Great for suits and all woolens, not as good for dress shirts. But its worth its weight in gold for any working guy who regularly wears suits, as the combination of this and a lint roller reduces the need to give your suits to dry cleaners to maybe twice a year.

 | Rowenta DA1560 Classic 1000-Watt Compact Iron with Stainless-Steel Soleplate
useless -- 2010-08-21 useless iron - never gets hot enough to iron wrinkles out - slightly bigger than other travel irons makes it more inconvenient
perfect for quilter retreat -- 2010-08-18 I have always envied the other quilter's small irons while at retreat. This year I researched them all and for the money this is the best iron. At first I thought the no auto off feature would be a minus, but actually due to the fact that I bought this specifically for retreat where we make quilts from sunup to midnight, it was a plus. I would have been annoyed to constantly wait while it warmed up. The burst of steam is awesome. The input for pouring in water is designed well, no messes. In addition to use at my workspace, I took this iron over to the large ironing board to use in place of the big iron the retreat furnishes. It outperformed all the irons the retreat has. The handle at first seemed odd, but again in no time at all I adapted. I love this iron.

 | Rowenta DX1700 Effective Iron
Rowenta Effective Iron -- 2010-09-01 This is absolutely the worst iron I have ever owned. It wants to stick to the clothes and not glide smoothly. I've cleaned the soleplate and it still doesn't glide smoothly. It has to be heated up really good before I can get it to glide at all. It's also very heavy. It also doesn't steam well. I have to use the burst of steam to get it to do anything.
precisionsteam iron -- 2010-08-25 Never buy a REWENTA product. I have it for less than 3 years and I use it rarely. The non stick bottom sticks, the steam does not work and the ironing became lousy. Customer service is pathetic. I would rather buy a $20.00 iron and change it every couple of years than this expensive one. It was over $60.00.

 | Rowenta DR5020 Ultra Steam 800-Watt Handheld Steamer Brush
limited in several ways -- 2010-07-29 For as small and inexpensive as this steam is, it actually works pretty well if you take your time and pull the cloth taut as you steam. The water reserve is tiny, though, and I could get though only 1 or 2 items before having to refill. Also, it only worked well on light clothes (like t-shirts). Heavier cottons, wools, and denims were still pretty wrinkled. I've used commercial steamers (having worked in retail clothing), and those steamers work on pretty much everything...but considering the price and size, I'd say this little portable worked pretty well. Just don't have lofty expectations...use this for touch ups, and hang on to your iron for the really wrinkly stuff. However, I will probably end up investing in a pricier model with a hook and huge water tank because I hate ironing.
Steamed -- 2010-05-25 Not overly happy with this item. Doesn't really hold enough water to even start what you need to steam. It just doesn't do the job I needed it to do.

 | Rowenta Soleplate Cleaner Kit
rowenta soleplate cleaner -- 2010-06-18 something that actually works to clean the soleplate of my iron and I don't have to do anything other than what the directions say to do
Where's the Meat -- 2010-06-06 Don't buy this book. This book is mostly blank pages. The index say's 49 pages, there are only 11 pages of text and that is only do to the large print and wide borders and the pages were printed sideways. If printed in a normal manner it may less than two pages. The information presented is so insignificant, that it wouldn't even be useful to a beginner. The title is taking it serious. Apparently when he wrote it, the writer didn't take it serious. The rest of the book is blank pages and blank diagrams of a pool table for you to draw your own shots and make your notes. I gave it one star because there wasn't an option for no stars.

 | Rowenta DG8030 Expert Steam Generator
JUNK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -- 2010-09-03 The iron is great for about 2 months and then it starts spitting and leaking water. The generator gave up in about 6 months . I have owned more Rowenta irons than I can count and they never last. I won't buy another one.
Would like to know how it works but it doesn't!. -- 2010-08-01 I received this product a month ago and it doesn't get hot. Returned it after much hassle with the vendor. Still waiting for my replacement from All Brands.
