 | Jiffy Steamer 0601 ESTEAM Travel Steamer, Black
Poor shipping packaging and a lame product -- 2010-03-01 I bought this steamer for my sister for Christmas and when it arrived it had completely come out of it's packaging in the box. However, since it came just before Christmas I gave it to her anyway. She didn't have a trip to try the steamer until just before the return window, and now we're stuck paying for a steamer that just spurts and sprays boiling hot water everywhere. Please don't buy this steamer or be sure if it comes and Amazon has poorly packaged it, you try it out right away!
Great steamer but of course not as good as an iron -- 2010-02-14 Based on other reviews and on my own experience, this steamer is probably the best one you can buy for the price. It does a good job at removing, or at least lessening, most of the wrinkles from clothing. Of course, there will never be a steamer that will work as well as an iron because a steamer uses only hot water, whereas an iron uses both hot water and pressure between two blunt surfaces. So if an iron is available, use the iron. However, this is the next best thing. Water is easily loaded into the steamer, and it takes about 3 minutes to start steaming after being plugged into a wall socket. It is also lightweight when water is absent, making it a convenient travel companion.

Love it! -- 2010-02-24 I absolutely love this thing. I will never iron again. It's not as perfectly pressed as a iron but you cannot tell once dressed. I even use it on my 3 year olds clothes and it makes her look "perfect". I can't believe I've been ironing for so long. Heats up fast, hose gets pretty warm so I have to keep my kid away. It probably wouldn't hurt her but I don't want to chance it. It does take using on a few items to get the hang of it, but I figured out if i pull on the bottom while moving down and then up it works best.
Works very well but smell is intolerable -- 2010-02-23 This product works very well on wrinkles. I purchased it because I wear a lot of 100% cotton shirts and I found that steaming the wrinkles was very fast and more enjoyable than ironing. Plus steaming eliminates the 'shiny' 'stains' that ironing can cause on cotton and other fabrics.
HOWEVER, I do not recommend purchasing this item because the hose (which as far as I can tell is a heavy rubbery plastic) stinks very strongly when the steamer is heated.
I thought perhaps the smell would dissipate after a few uses but it didn't. I used the unit three times for 45 minutes to an hour and the smell was just as bad after approx. three hours of use as when it was new.
The smell was strong enough to cause headaches and sore throats. I really don't recommend this unit for households with children or pets (and especially birds). I think the off-gassing is bad enough to be harmful to one's health.
I returned the item. I have been looking for a unit that has a hose made of a different material but I have not found one. I may also try a different manufacturer such as Jiffy, but before I purchase, I will call their customer service line and find out the content of their hoses.

 | Jiffy Steamer J-2000 Residential Series 1300-Watt Garment Steamer
Steamer to the Rescue -- 2010-02-17 I got this steamer for my wife for Christmas and she loves it! I assembled the unit and was impressed with the quality of the parts. I did a lot of looking around for the "perfect" unit and this fits the bill. Seems to be ready to go quickly and once again, all of the parts were high quality.
Best Garment Steamer at a reasonable price -- 2010-02-15 Hate ironing . . . goal was that TOBY steamer, researched and TOBY had a lot bad reviews. Research some more and found consumer reports to stated JIFFY was better and at a resonable price. And boy were they correcting in stating so. This light weight wand steamer quickly removes wrinkles from fabric. It heats up in a minute; with high-velocity steam jets and a wide head. Very easy to use. The whole family loves it. Should have bought two!

Small, but powerful -- 2010-02-09 This steamer works well for its size. I only wish it was a bit bigger!
Great! -- 2010-02-08 This is a great steamer. I used to have one of those E-steamers and it sucked!!! It broke on me and thank the good Lord because it forced me to get this one instead, and this one is much higher quality and it's a fraction of the price. The only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is that it's obviously not as good as taking your clothes to the dry cleaner's, but almost!! I highly recommend it. Plus it's just very affordable and saves you money as well. I use this steamer on my clothes every morning. It's nice!

 | Jiffy Steamer J-4000 Pro-Line Commercial Garment Steamer
The J-2000 may have been more useful -- 2010-02-11 This steamer is very effective and simple to operate. I use it to get wrinkles out of delicate sweaters and dresses. It gets the most egregious wrinkles out of cotton, but you shouldn't expect a "pressed" look from even the best steamer. Protect your skin while using.
However, I strongly feel that it is just too much for home use. It's HUGE, probably 3-4 times as big as the J-2000 and it is not easy to fill and empty (which you should do to prevent rusting). I'm pretty petite and lifting the thing and then turning on its side or upside down to empty it is hard for me. I'm considering getting a siphon to help me with the job. The J-2000 has a little jug that you can simply remove. Not to mention that I've spied at least a couple of stores at the mall (french connection and J Jill) actually use the J-2000.... If it's good enough for them, it would probably have been good enough for my purposes.
It's too late for me to make a change now, but I would have gone with the J-2000 had I realized these things.
Add a Little Jiffy To Your Life -- 2010-01-26 The Jiffy Pro-Line J-4000 pretty much does everything it promises. It's a high-quality piece of equipment, which is obvious from its old-school retro-1940's bullet-proof design. Obviously no one has spent much time re-designing this product for 50 years or so, nor should they. It's almost a piece of Americana.
No, the Jiffy will not replace ironing; unless, perhaps you are a college student or a spandex-clad stay at home mom, or maybe a shut-it. You can't pull a wrinkled mess out of the clothes hamper and steam it to crisp perfection. What you can do, however, is take the days wear and light wrinkles out of suits, dress slacks and cotton shirts quickly and with ease.
The Jiffy will cut your dry cleaning bill in half or less. And, as dry cleaning is incredibly hard on your clothes, it will extend the useful life of your wardrobe.
I wear expensive bespoke suits and custom shirts. Being able to freshen them up and restore them to ready-to-wear status without a damaging trip to the dry cleaners is very pleasant.
The only unfortunate thing is that the device takes a good 20 minutes to warm up and create steam. Even if you leave it on "pre-heat" it takes six or seven minutes, not the two to three that are billed.
However, once it is going it produces billows of hot steam that will do the job.
I would recommend that you get the available "steaming board". Trying to steam things that are just flopping around on a hanger is awkward. Or, it works fine if you can just hang the clothes up against a wall.
Overall; this is a great high-quality product that does at least as well as the manufacturer claims,

Decent but Problematic Steamer (Also, Mold!) -- 2010-02-15 For the price, this is a good little steamer. It gets wrinkles out as you would expect... wool is magic, cotton t-shirts are good, button-up cotton shirts retain traces of wrinkles but major wrinkles dissapear. The steamer is easy to fill, though sometimes getting the hose off of the unit is difficult. One problem with the steamer is where to put the paddle when you turn the unit on. Unlike a larger unit, it doesn't mount above the reservoir. You either leave it attached to the unit (not ideal) leave it on the floor, or rig it so it hangs somewhere until the steam starts.
Like many here, I had the gurgling problem. Seems that water collects in the paddle. Before using, I find it useful to shake the paddle so that the excess water falls out, towel off the paddle, then apply to clothing. Also, it is important to make sure that the hose is not kinked, as this also adds to the problem. Occasionally you'll find that the steam is leaking out at the base of the hose, either due to a kinked hose blockage, or the base turning as you use the hose. This creates less steam out of the paddle, and thus more work to get out wrinkles. BTW, the hose is some sort of weak plastic and it will kink at some point despite best efforts to keep smooth.
I can't blame this last bit on the steamer, though it seems quite odd. I went to use the steamer today (I've been using it 5 days a week for the last month or two) and needed to fill it with water. I happened to look inside of the reservoir and noticed that the bit of water that was left in there was cloudy. After pouring it out, I realized that there was a fair amount of mold growing on the bottom of the reservoir. I believe it is growing on the plate that heats the water. So, wow, some extremophile mold. But also, that's it for me and this steamer. Gross!
don't buy this -- 2010-02-15 I bought this because there were a lot of good reviews, so I expected to get a good outcome. What I got was wet clothes. It just makes your clothes wet, it doesn't remove wrinkles. Yes, the steam is hot, but with all the water droplets coming out of it it doesn't make a good steamer. I held it upright, I always make sure that the hose is straight, but the water just keeps on coming out which makes your clothes wet.

 | Rowenta IS9100 Commercial Garment Steamer
EXCELLENT STEAMER, HIGHLY RECOMMEND -- 2010-03-08 I have used a steamer (different brand) for the last 4 years minus all the nice amenities that the Rowenta IS9100 model has. Last month it started leaking which could not be repaired so I was on the hunt for a new steamer.
I was going to buy the same steamer and then I saw this Rowenta Model IS9100 Commercial one and with all the amenities and I decided to buy this and give it a try. After researching "everything" that was out there on clothes steamers, the Rowenta rose to the top of my list for several reasons. The larger water resorvoir which is fabulous! I can steam many more items now without having to stop and refill it...VERY nice feature.
The adjustable handle is also quite nice, allowing me to push it down and slide it out of the way in my laundry room. The efficient and FAST operation of this unit is also very very good. Seems like you don't even wait a minute or so and you have HOT steam and ready to rock and roll! (As much as you can rock and roll while steaming clothes ;-) Less expensive steamers take 3 to 4 times longer to heat up, so this is a great feature. Also very hot steam...be careful ladies, this is a wonderful feature for getting out those really stubborn wrinkles, but it really smarts if you accidentally get a thumb in the way ;-)
The automatic cord rewind is another great feature. Before with my old steamer I had to wind my cord around and around and around my stand, which usually fell down anyway.
The garment rack on top is also great...just throw your shirt, sweater over the shoulder forms and steam away....then slide your hanger on and hang up...viola...done...kaput....give me the next item to steam. It rolls great and overall this is one top notch steamer.
So, if you are in the market and looking for a solid steamer...you won't find one better than this! I love mine! (If you couldn't tell ;-) You really will not find one better. Remember that old saying "You get what you pay for"...well this is worth every cent!

Wrinkle Killer -- 2009-11-15 I recently returned the Rowenta Pro Compact steamer in exchange for this "commercial" steamer.
It certainly is a big improvement. The extra 150 watts of steaming power makes a noticeable difference.
There are several features that make this a wonderful unit. The large 1 gallon water tank is clear and easy to remove and refill. The on/off switch and the automatic cord reel are both foot actuated. There are two onboard accessories bins that keep the attachments from disappearing. The steam is powerful, plentiful and literally rolling out in 60 seconds. Also, the unit is quite sturdy.
Unfortunately, there are a few design flaws and disappointing problems. The two large wheels do not roll on my hardwood floors nor on my carpet. Instead as you drag the machine it leaves a nice trail of marks on the floor. The telescoping handles are not secured into the base of the machine and pull out when you attempt to lift the machine. Also, this unit did not come with a handy plastic brush attachment that the cheaper unit did.
Having said all this, the Rowenta Precision Valet Steamer does a wonderful job of removing stubborn wrinkle quickly and easily.

A real hit! -- 2010-02-15 My son asked for a steamer for Christmas (go figure)..anyway, I did quite a bit of "window shopping" and decided on this one. He LOVES it.. I watched what had been a wadded up jacket become recognizable again.. in just a couple of minutes. He was thrilled... which, of course, meant I was, too! Will probably get one for myself now!! :)
Terrible Completely Broken after 2 Months -- 2010-02-03 I bought this steamer 2 months ago and now it doesn't heat up at all. I have a store and it really turned out to be a huge inconvenience. From the beginning too had issues. It would be very spotty hot and then cold. Then it completely stopped working. Buy a different steamer!!!!

Terrific Home Steamer -- 2010-02-22 Great product. Big-time steam. Good temperature control. Auto shut-off. All of these are terrific features. Just hope it holds up well.
Easy Ironing! -- 2010-02-15 I hate ironing, however, I love cloth napkins..... This steam press has made the job of ironing so easy that I actually love to sit at my counter and iron all of the napkins that have piled up during the week!

 | SteamFast SF-140 1000-Watt Hard-Floor Steam Mop
steam mop -- 2010-03-08 i have enjoyed using this steam mop. it's the only one i have tried. i use it on laminet flooring that looks like wood. it cleans really well & the cord is long enough for a pretty big area. comes with 2 cleaning pads so you can have 1 in the wash & 1 to use. i would buy it again.
Pretty good steam mop with a few flaws -- 2010-02-25 I purchased this mop about a year ago on Amazon. I did a lot of research and it looked like this was the best buy for not a lot of money.
What I liked:
Pretty powerful steam in a short amount of time
Extremely easy to use
Green and cheap way to clean your floor - no cleaning products needed
Re-usable, sturdy map pads that you can stick in the washing machine
What I didn't like:
Only one small steam hole right in the middle of the bottom of the unit
Floors too wet after using
Short cord
On/Off button cheaply made, it broke off after about 6 months, would not turn on and I had to do some creative re-wiring
Plastic pole handle that broke (fixed it with duct tape)
Good customer service. It is under warranty for a year and about a week before it ran out, my re-wiring broke for good. I contacted the company, they had me send it back at my expense but that's typical - about 2 weeks later I received a brand new mop in the mail! It was the same model but it seems to have been updated. There is now a row of steam holes on the bottom (like that expensive brand that looks similar to this one), new mop pads with a convenient pull tab so you don't have to touch the wet hot part of the pad and an aluminum mop pole. With this new version, my floors are dry in 5 minutes.
I really like this mop.
