 | Brother CS6000I 60-Stitch Computerized Free-Arm Sewing Machine with Multiple Stitch Functions
I LOVE this machine!!! -- 2010-03-10 I am VERY new to sewing. I did a lot of research & this machine seemed to have the most options for the price. I was a little reserved until I used it. I know almost NOTHING about sewing. I had a woman demo a $300+ machine in a store & this has ALL of the features that she showed me & more. It is VERY user friendly. I read the instruction manual {which I usually don't do on things}. It was very helpful. This sewing machine is very lightweight & easy to move around. I have made quite a few projects & they turned out perfect. This is a great machine & I don't think that you will regret buying it!
Great product -- 2010-03-07 This sewing machine is my first machine. I think it does exactly what it says it will do. I use it for sewing on cub scout patches and awards, and for quilting.

 | Brother XL2600I 25-Stitch Free-Arm Sewing Machine with Multiple Stitch Functions
Loving My New Project -- 2010-02-23 The package showed up at the perfect time. It was properly packaged and met all my expectations. I am very pleased w/ my purchase (1st time buyer). I ended up coming to Amazon for my sewing machine because the one that I originally bought off E-bay wound up being a pain since the seller sold it twice then went on vacation! So this turned out great.
Be Careful With This Sewing Machine -- 2010-02-22 This machine is BRAND NEW but even with the manual, I cannot find out why the sewing machine will sew part of the button hole and not the rest of it! I have been sewing with Singers for over 30 years--was excited about the one-step buttonhole feature on this. I can't find a help number, called a local sewing machine repair shop only to be told that they don't help with machines they don't sell. Be careful buying a machine online!!! Just not impressed with the level of service after the sale on this item.

 | Brother LS2125I 10-Stitch Free-Arm Sewing Machine with Automatic 4-Step Buttonholer
Great first sewing machine! -- 2010-02-23 I love this machine! I'm a complete novice - haven't sewed a thing since Jr. High home ec class 30 yrs ago. It works like a dream, and I've already made some really great things with it. I know other people have had trouble with it unthreading or the thread breaking, but so far that has only happened to me when I made a mistake, like forgetting to put the presser foot down or using the wrong thread for my fabric. It has enough different stitches for everything I need to do, and a couple I haven't even tried yet (like the buttonhole stitch), so I'm glad I didn't buy one with lots of fancy stitches.
Does the job! Great machine for the money! -- 2010-02-20 I did not buy this machine, but got it as a gift. I had never used a sewing machine in my life, but I found this machine easy to use. I have made several items with it. As long as you maintain it, it will stay working. It is important to clean and OIL it as directed in the manual. I do this and it is a work horse. I have used it for 4 months and have had not problems that were the machines fault only mine which were quickly remedied once I did some troubleshooting.

 | Brother PED-Basic Software for Downloading Embroidery Designs
Basic PED-Basic -- 2010-02-15 It is a very basic software - all you can do is to change the size of images from 90% to 120%,preview and download them on your design card.If you have windows 7 do not use the CD software that comes with it. It's too primitive for it. [...]
The software works great and is simple and basic. You'll be very happy with it unless your expectations exceed the software's capabilities.
Works, at a price! -- 2010-01-13 I gave this product a low rating more for its value than its performance.
The product does what it is supposed to do, it allows you to transfer designs to your machine and in that respect you just can't do without it (Brother got you by you know what...).
The software that comes with it is at best 'primitive' and offers no editing capabilities what so ever. The user interface would be considered state of the art around 1990!
It only organizes your designs, and then very poorly.
Transferring designs to the card is also primitive. You can not add designs to the card cumulatively for it erases the card every time prior to writing to it!
Al in all, at its current price, a serious ripoff. Unfortunately it is all you got if you want to load new designs into your machine.
I feel that at $100++ it is way overpriced, the package's true value should be somewhere between $25 and $50.

 | Brother PC-420 PRW Limited Edition Project Runway Sewing Machine
Wonderful machine! -- 2010-03-02 I did my research for buying a new sewing machine over several years....When my old Necchi showed signs of imminent demise I chose the Brother PC-420 PRW as having the features I wanted most for the amount of money I had to spend.
This machine does not disappoint!! I love the self-threading feature and the top-and-bottom auto thread cutting. After a little time spent with the exceptionally thorough manual I was able to try different stitches--my first project just happened to include free-motion quilting with nylon thread and I had no problems at all.
I have two minor complaints....the monogram feature produces such small letters as to be useless for anything other than hankerchiefs, which saddened me. And the machine does not have enough interior light for my aging eyes.
Looking forward to trying out more stitches and feet, I quickly realized that this machine had all of the features of older, mechanical machines but with about a hundred times more ease and accuracy--PLUS the features I mentioned above! I prefer using the foot pedal, but I have options to use the knee control or even the button on the machine itself....which opens up a lot of possibilities I never had on my older machines!
Great customer service from Amazon with sewing machine -- 2010-03-02 My 5-star rating is not for the machine, rather Amazon's amazing customer service in its return. I received PC-420 PRW just a few days after I had ordered it from Amazon (I selected them from a list of sellers). Amazon's original shipment was estimated at 3 to 5 weeks. Pretty great delivery considering I also received free shipment. When it arrived, the box was in great shape with no obvious signs of distress. But...upon opening it, it looked like someone had tried to take the machine out of it's tight packing and broke it's handle. Then they tidied things up a bit but forgot to put the manual back in, so placed it haphazardly back on top of everything before resealing the box. Rather than find out what else had been tampered with I resealed and requested a return from Amazon. Less than 18 hours later, UPS was at my door ready to pick up for return to Amazon. This is amazing stuff for 2010!! I buy a relatively expensive machine with no haggle at a steep discount, get free shipping, am unhappy with the product when it arrives, request a refund with no haggle and get it picked back up at my door less than 18 hours later. Whatever you do, look for whatever you want to buy from AMAZON first! It may arrive in unexpected condition but you can purchase without fear or anxiety because Amazon will make it right. Amazon is good business - and that says a lot in present day USA. It's getting harder and harder to spend money these days but when I do, it will only be with companies like Amazon.

 | Singer 7442 Electronic Sewing Machine
Wonderful Multistitch Singer Sewing Machine -- 2010-02-07 I purchased a similar Singer Sewing machine 2 Christmases ago for my older (33 y.o.) daughter. She loves her machine, learned to use it easily, and has used it about monthly since. My younger daughter wanted a Sewing machine this Christmas, so I tried to get as close to the other machine as possible. This is basically the same model. My old machine (a sturdy but difficult to use Swiss "Elna" machine that I bought used more than 30 yrs. ago) was on the blink, so I decided it was time to get a new machine for me also, while I could still find the model that my older daughter liked so much.
I really love the ease of use. I basically only straight stiched with the old machine, or used simple zigzags, but I have already tried most of the features with my new machine. All are very easy to use. The free arm is wonderful!! I have repaired a hole near the knee in a favorite pair of jeans already. There is no way that I could have done that with the other. I used the button stitch to sew several buttons onto my lab jackets. This is wonderful!! I hate sewing buttons by hand. I also like the automatic needle threader very much. My eyes are getting poor, and it is hard to see the needle to thread it. The machine is intuitive for initially threading, and for most functions. I like that the optimum stitch size is programmed in, but that it is easily changed if needed. I also prefer having the stitches on the machine, over a LED display on the newer/ higher end models, where it might be harder to figure out what stitches are available. I learned how to use a blind hem stitch to take up a pair of pants: the instructions on the web site were clearer for this than in the manual. The manual was very good for everything else, and was clear about the care needed (minimal) for the machine.
I am very happy with my purchase: a reasonable price for a wonderful machine for all basic and intermediate sewing!!
Plug In and Sew! -- 2010-02-05 I purchased this sewing machine just this week. Chose standard shipping (free) from Amazon, and received in 3 days!
The machine was waiting for me when I got home from work. I took it out of the box, set it up, and made a poodle skirt in no time at all. The machine practically sewed the skirt by itself. Easy to thread both the machine and the bobbin. Easy to understand and read the manual. My sewing experience is costumes for the kids, pillows, blankets, crafts. Not a beginner but certainly not advanced, either. There are fun choices of stitch patterns that can be easily selected by simply pushing a button. No advanced degree needed for this machine!
The week prior to purchasing this machine, I purchased the Singer Inspiration 4210. The Inspiration should be named "Perspiration". It was not at all easy to interpret the manual, or to figure out what stitch was what from the confusing dial(s). The Inspiration 4210 operation was not smooth and semi-automatic like the 7442 model is.
I was very frustrated and disappointed, and returned the Inspiration to the store, then went back to the drawing board and did some more research. Found several on Amazon, decided on the Singer 7442--and I love it!

 | Buttoneer Fastening System Refill Pack -100 Package
Buttoneer Fastening System Refill Pack -- 2010-03-10 I have used these Buttoneer Fastening System stapes for years. It's not as good as sewing the button on, but if you're inn a hurry it gets the job done.
Awful! -- 2009-10-22 The nylon fasteners were difficult to thread and attach. The bottom line: the buttons came off after 5 minutes.

 | Janome TB12 Threadbanger Sewing Machine with 12 Built-In Stitches w/ Free Shipping!!!
Disappointed! -- 2010-03-02 I am very disappointed with the performance of this machine. It sewed through two layers of lightweight fabric easily, but would not sew through the hem of some blue jeans that I was trying to hem. It also has other negatives. The bobbin must be filled outside of the machine. This means that it must be taken out of the bobbin case(which is a royal pain!) each time the bobbin is empty and filled on the bobbin filler which is located on the top of the machine. I am sending it back.
wow -- 2010-02-28 Delivery of this item was like overnight!!!! Impressive service from Mr. Vac & Mrs. Sew-Thank You. I was able to thread and work a couple practice stitches with ease. And for never having used a sewing before this is impressive. I can't wait to start my first project on my new toy :) The construction is solid. The machine is everything it is suppose to be.

 | Brother XL-3750 Convertible Free-Arm Sewing Machine with Quilting Features
Brother XL-3750 Sewing Machine -- 2010-01-31 This machine works great for me right outta the box. Easy to thread and wind the bobbin. Thread tension is just right. Foot pedal is easy for me to control. I am very happy with my purchase of this refurbished machine. Had to replace my 31 year old Singer because it was stored with too much moisture in the air (good old Pacific Northwest). Otherwise it would probably still be working. I've made 2 purses so far and plan on doing a lot more. I recommend this machine.
My Granddaughter's Quilting Machine -- 2010-01-09 This was a Christmas gift for my Grandaughter. It is exactly what she wanted and she is thrilled with it. It was on her wish list(which is a great idea) and that made it a lot easier for me since she is in Washington State and I am in Fl.
