Bionaire BH3950-U Silent Micathermic Heater with Adjustable ThermostatBionaire BH3950-U Silent Micathermic Heater with Adjustable Thermostat

Perfect for me -- 2010-08-04
I moved into an older home with central heating. Each time that heater went on, the noise level went up considerably and cold air would blow through the house, then the blower would send much too hot air around, then would shut off with some rooms too hot and others too cold. I decided to shut off the central heater, plug up the heater vents, and use something silent and reliable. I now have several convection heaters--they're silent, reliable, and the heating is even and steady, and they do a much better job of heating at less than half the cost of the electricity I used to use. The Bionaire Micathermic heater worked as advertised, right out of the box, after a few minutes of setup time. The heating is faster than my other two convection heaters--one an oil-based radiator--and no more asthma problems from dust being blown all over the place every time the central heater cranked up. So far, so good, but it will be six months or more before I know if this heater will be able to work continuously and reliably during the cold winter months.

Quiet and reliable -- 2010-05-20
It's pretty simple, a heater that does it's job and is quiet. Throws out a good amount of heat, and has virtually no noise when it's on. Assembly was very easy, and it stores easily in a closet. Will probably get one for the office too.

Econo Heaters are GREAT -- 2010-03-25
My husband and I purchased a home in Ohio and went there this past winter. We have a wonderful propane heater that worked well but oh did it cost us! I had purchased 6 of these heaters and decided to put one of them up. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized the propane heater came on less, so I put up two more in this 12 x 17 very open room (I left the one up for a month before I put the other two up). They kept the room and the adjoining large room at a consistent 66 degrees when the temperature outside was in the low 20's and below. But, the ultimate decision to continue using these was to be made when the electric bill came out.

When we received the electric bill I had had one heater plugged in 24/7 and our electric bill rose $5.00. I was shocked. Wow, these are the best of the best in my opinion. Now we have 5 of them up and I will order 3 more for other rooms. I will be heating a 1,500 sq. ft., 1 1/2 story with these. For once, I've purchased something that really does work as well as the company says it does.

Awesome alternative to the 1500 forced air heater. -- 2010-03-15
Don't expect it to warm a room quickly, but add a timer and your office will be toasty and keep its temp well in the winter. I used it in a 10x10 room and it worked well. I would not put this in a room with vaulted ceilings though or bigger than recommended.

Honeywell HZ-2200 Mini Tower Surround HeaterHoneywell HZ-2200 Mini Tower Surround Heater

Honeywell HZ-2200 -- 2010-09-09
Not so hot. I made a mistake buying this one. The idea of surround heat is good. But this model doesn't throw a lot of heat. Draws too much current. Degrades in efficiency very quickly in a short time. And is next to impossible to keep clean. It starts it's life OK, but goes downhill quick. Save your money, choose another model.

Suddenly Stopped Working -- 2010-08-23
This heater worked fine the first winter when I purchased it, but when I pulled it out of the closet the following winter it suddenly stopped working after using it for about a month.

does the job -- 2010-01-08
Placed below a window in the attic (8 cold windows total) next to an un-insulated crawling space, it does the job beautifully warming an area of 17X25, for some reason the attic is where it works best, but at 1500 watts I am moving on to new technologies (envi 450watt- jury still out on that one).

This heater almost burned my house down! -- 2009-12-29
I know by reading many other reviews that people have had the same issue. Please call 877-382-4357 then 1, 2, 2 and report this to the consumer product div of the FTC they will not do anything till thay hear from you, I have already lodged a complaint they need more than me though. Please before this product kills someone or a family!

The thermostat stopped working on both of them in about the same time period @1 month. They in turn overheated and nearly caused an electrical fire, thank goodness my wife was home to see what was happening.

I called HoneyWell/Kaz (the real company name is KAZ Inc I found out, but they kept the Honeywell name for obvious reasons). They were extremely defensive and told me to send the heaters back for refund and that they would conduct a FULL-Analysis and get back to me. When I called back later they could hardly remember me or the problem and I was shuffled me into Voice-mail, I must have called 7 times. I then called the Fed Trade Commission to issue a consumer warning against this product, they immediately sent someone over to review the damage and file a report.

The FTC called Honeywell/Kaz and demanded the defective heaters be sent to them, but lucky for Kaz (I sarcastically write) they had disposed of them and would not produce any such defective products. The FTC said big companies often try to get the product back so that no formal un-biased review can be performed on the product, I will be happy to provide names of individuals both at Honeywell/Kaz and the FTC, so you may corroberate these claims.

Beware these things are dangerous in my Experience, (2 of them!). :

unit got hot, room did not -- 2010-06-08
The body of this unit got too hot to touch but didn't put sufficient warmth into the room. I returned it and took my lump over the return shipping fee. I would not recommend this to anyone with small children or anyone who might want to change its location once it got heated up.

I have another Honeywell space heater that I love but it is not the low profile type like this one.

great heater -- 2010-03-03
We have 4 of these heaters and they work great. So quiet you can't even hear them. They put out a lot of heat.

Indus-Tool TT Toasty Toes Ergonomic Heated FootrestIndus-Tool TT Toasty Toes Ergonomic Heated Footrest

Wonderful head pad -- 2010-06-30
This heating pad is just what I was looking for. I use it on a cold wood floor. My only complaint is that the low setting is a bit woo warm. They should replace the high setting with the current low and add something like
a 30 watt low setting. The manual claims the high setting is for radiant heat. This is just silly, 90 watts is not going to produce enough radiant heat to do anything. I would also add some rubber feet so the unit doesn't slide on a bare floor. Note that I use the unit flat on the ground as the angled parts make the unit too high.

it IS toasty -- 2010-05-28
I am a very petite girl and don't have the best circulation to my toes. The menopausal women in my office keep it freezing cold. This footrest has been wonderful! Doesn't get too hot, comfy radiant heat. Pretty comfortable to sit with too, does help you think more about your posture when sitting. Definitely worth it! I suppose a heating pad on the floor could be just a effective. However, this unit allows you to stand it up to be a wall panel, which is a good option too. Love it!

Holmes HCH4953-U Ultra Quiet Dual Ceramic Heater with 1Touch® Electronic ThermostatHolmes HCH4953-U Ultra Quiet Dual Ceramic Heater with 1Touch® Electronic Thermostat

Good but gives off a smell -- 2010-08-11
This heater gives more heat than your average unit this size only problem is it gives off a smell too. The smell it may not be too unobjectionable form some people though and the smell seems to be just in a 6 foot or so vicinity of the heater. The heater has very clean lines and nice styling and is a good compact size.

Holmes HCH4953-U Ultra Quiet Dual Ceramic Heater with 1Touch® Electronic Thermostat (bedroom) -- 2010-07-29
First shipment had a damaged heater grill (dented severely) which I noticed as soon as it is unpacked. Amazon shipped a replacement heater promptly and paid for returning the first shipment -- excellent service!

Used the heater for 3 months. As expected from Holmes heaters, this one works very well - quiet, heats up a small bed room (12x14) quickly and the auto-off + thermostat are great features and provide peace of mind. I'd recommend it for small bedrooms.

My previous Holmes heater lasted 12 years until I dropped it hard on stone floor and broke it. I expect this one will last as long!

Sengoku CV-2230 KeroHeat Convection 23,000-BTU Portable Kerosene HeaterSengoku CV-2230 KeroHeat Convection 23,000-BTU Portable Kerosene Heater

second times the charm -- 2010-07-23
I have owned this for about a year now and so far so good. The first units auto ignition failed after just a few days of use but Amazon was fast at sending a replacement.

The unit starts easily and will burn for a long time on a full tank. I use it to heat my garage for winter home brewing and it kept the 2 car detached garage with no drywall of insulation warm enough to be comfortable with a medium jacket when it was about 15* outside.

The only complaint is the handle. Even with the tank empty the handle came off while moving it a few times. And with the fuel tank full don't even think about moving it using the handle. besides that it does its job.

Great product! -- 2010-02-11
This heater is just perfect for a workshop, garage, basement, etc.Once mine is warmed up (about 10 minutes) it raises my 1800 ft2 basement/workshop from 56 to 70 degrees in less than an hour. This is NOT an insulated area of the home and this is Northern New England weather so trust me it works great!. Some reviews say it is hard to assemble...but if you actually have any problem with that, you likely should not be messing with a kerosene heater anyways!. It is simple to put together, fuel, and light. If you are not used to running these things you might have to fool with it some to find the "sweet" spot where you have zero odor.If it still smells, you do not have QUALITY K-1 fuel. Buy from a different source and use scented additive if needed. Overall, a terrific heat source if maintained and used properly. ENSURE you have a CO detector in your home...you should have one anyways but it is a lifesaver if you use any Carbon based fuel!

Holmes HFH416-UM Swirl Grill Power HeaterHolmes HFH416-UM Swirl Grill Power Heater

Perfect for the office -- 2010-08-20
I purchased this heater for my office because I needed a small space heater to keep me warm when the building air conditioner got to be too cold. This heater is great. It warms up my space in a short amount of time and is easily stored under my desk when not in use.

glitchy -- 2010-08-05
For some reason this heater only stays on consistently when placed on high. Granted I workd in an office with large windows in an open loft space, so there is no reason not to put it on high. It has treated me well thus far, place under my desk, on most cold days this is my best friend.

Broan 174 750/1500W 120 VAC Painted Grill Wall Heater, WhiteBroan 174 750/1500W 120 VAC Painted Grill Wall Heater, White

great replacement heater -- 2010-03-09
I purchased this as a replacement built in heater in our 2 bedroom condo. This heater has multiple wiring options to allow for 220v or 110v. Since our heaters were wired for 220 I was able to follow the directions in the box and have this heater up and running in about half an hour. The old heater was always setting off the smoke alarm this one has been fantastic.

Broan fans are loud. -- 2010-01-17
If you are looking for a heater fan unit that replaces your old Broan heater, this is it.
This heater fan is an exact match to its decades old product.
It fit the existing opening within a sixteenth of an inch.
However if you are looking for an improved product, this is not it.
It has the same loud fan noise as the old one.
It will require the same periodic cleaning to keep it running.
It will need to be removed annually to be cleaned and oiled.

For the price it is a good product and will last ten to fifteen years, but if want a quiet heater, pay moe and buy a unit with a better fan.
