 | Black & Decker ICR200 First Impressions 1350-Watt Auto-Off Iron
Worked great first year but things went south fast -- 2009-07-12 I bought this iron about 2 years ago when my 15 year old Black and Decker base model iron stopped heating up. I thought since I had great luck with the brand before, I would try another one. I was impressed with the cord reel and the amount of steam output and thought it worked better than my older model. After about a year of using every other weekend, this iron started ruining my clothes. First, let me say that I always use filtered water in the steam container so I get less mineral buildup and I also make sure all the water is emptied after each use to prevent rust. This apparently doesn't help either way on this iron as I get white particles in the steam that mess up my dark shirts and I have had the iron leak rust onto a pair of white shorts as well. The cord reel has malfunctioned and now it takes about 5 minutes to successfully get the entire cord wound up. I am looking for a new iron as of today since it ruined another piece of white clothing with the rust spewing out of the iron plate.
Never again! -- 2008-09-20 The first time I purchased this, it lasted less than a year. I replaced it with the identical model for it's retractable cord, but this one stopped working after only 3 months. This is an awful iron - please don't waste your time and money!

 | Black & Decker Classic Iron F65E with Nonstick Soleplate, White
Good iron, with one problem -- 2010-08-23 I got this and plugged it right in and started using it. It irons like a dream, but after 7 shirts (about an hour) the water started pouring out of the hole that you pour it into. I wasn't tipping the iron up so that it would do that - but just wondered why it would. I emptied the iron and used it dry with sizing. It works great - heavier than most, but I sew a lot, so the heaviness is good. Does not stick when using starch or sizing. This was the iron my Mom had when I was a kid - it's great. I'm sure I'll figure out why the water poured out. Suggestions?
not happy -- 2010-04-24 I bought this on the recommendation of a reliable appliance repair shop but I'm not happy with it. It's doesn't heat up as much as I think it should and the steam is very minimal. I wish I'd saved all the paperwork so I could return it. And it was a LOT cheaper at K-Mart!

Do police departments know about this iron? -- 2010-06-29 Against my better judgment (I'd suggested a Rowenta), my wife recently
purchased this iron. I made the mistake of trying it and was
promptly transformed into a near-homicidal maniac. The way it leaks
water all over the place is bad enough, but even worse is the way it
drags on any fabric you throw at it. 80-grit sandpaper is more
"non-stick" than this iron.
I suspect that countless blunt-trauma crimes the world over could be solved
if police departments had these irons in their crime scene investigation
kits. I'm donating mine today!

 | Black & Decker F975 Light 'N Easy Iron, Blue
Long time B&D iron user -- 2010-08-23 As someone who has used Black and Decker irons for years, I give this product two thumbs down. I have found that this iron does not glide easily over my clothes, despite the non-stick soleplate. It tends to bunch up my clothes as I try to iron them. This is true for 50/50 and all cotton dress shirts and pants. The soleplate also became stained on one of the first few uses, again, despite the non-stick surface. I don't understand the problem with the soleplate, as I have another B&D iron with the same type of soleplate that works fine (but lacks a steam surge button which I bought this one for). The water reservoir has no closing cover on it, and when I rest the iron on its heel, I have found that the water splashes out of the fill hole onto my hand and ironing board. This happens even when the reservoir is almost empty. It also leaves intermittent water spots on my clothes as I iron them. I haven't given up on B&D irons yet, but this one is unusable in my opinion. I would not recommend this. Can't return this because it was purchased with American Express points, so it's going to Goodwill. I'm in the market for another B&D iron. I'm giving them one more chance to impress me.
Leaves black stuff on your clothes!!! -- 2009-10-30 This iron is just not working out for me. I iron several of my sons white shirts for work and I am so tired of washing them only to stain them during ironing. I do not use starch, so not sure what the black gunky stuff is that stays on the iron, but it does come off onto your clothes. Now in the market for a better iron. I would say if you have not bought this one yet, move on and find another brand. Gave it 2 stars because it does heat up and the cord is long enough. That's about all I can say for it.

 | Black & Decker SteamXpress Iron
Leaky after a year -- 2009-02-04 This inexpensive iron worked fine for about a year (used weekly). But started leaking and seemed not to get as hot as before after that. Next time I'd rather pay more for something that will last.
LEAKS -- 2007-10-02 My wife replaced a $ 90.00 Sharp iron witn the $ 29.00 Black and Decker. She liked the way it worked as well as the expensive one. The Sharp quit after 18 months, the Black and Decker started leaking at 14 months, two months out of warranty!! It is a good iron but will not last very much past the 12 month warranty period.

 | Black & Decker AS150 Steam Advantage Iron
A total waste of money... -- 2008-12-02 I bought this a year ago, but just started using it regularly in the past six months. I iron exactly two pair of slacks once a week so I am not a heavy user. It did an okay job, but was not the hottest iron I have owned. Ironing cotton was a real chore. It died yesterday. It just ceased to get hot. I am not sure if it is just this iron or Black & Decker in general, but I will think twice before purchasing this brand again.
Not good over time -- 2008-01-01 We have had this iron for about a year. We purchased it because our last iron was a Black and Decker and lasted for a long time. This iron worked will for us until the swivel that holds the cord decided to stop working. We can iron if we hold the cord just so. I thought I would repair the iron but they put a no tamper screw in so I would have to buy a special screw driver and frankly the iron is just not worth the cost of the screw driver.

 | Black & Decker F1055 Steam Advantage Iron with Stainless-Steel Soleplate
great ironing for a fair price -- 2010-03-29 heats up fast and works perfectly for what i paid for it
i couldnt be happier
Awful -- 2010-02-09 This iron should be a textbook example in bad design. The knob for turning it on and setting the temperature is VERY difficult to use. The only indication of what the numbers on the dial mean is on the other side of the iron (the hot side) down at the very bottom. When you tilt the iron to read this, the water pours out. It is very hard to tell when you've filled the water to the proper level the translucent water compartment isn't translucent enough. When pressing the steam button, an awful lot of the steam comes out the sides and up into your face. The meaning of the indication lights on the handle is a little ambiguous. This iron isn't worth it at any price!

Phew -- 2010-04-14 Having now had 3 Rowenta irons which developed leaks I was trying to find an iron that had the features I liked in the Rowenta's but without the leaking. The Black and Decker seems brilliant. Bear in mind that I have only had it for a just over a month, but I love it. (Does one really love an iron?) It certainly makes light of the ironing and does a better job than the R did. Cant fault it.
Sorry I bought it -- 2010-03-26 My last iron was a top-of-the-line Black & Decker that I absolutely loved. After many years of lots of use, it kicked up its heals and died. Naturally I gravitated to B&D again, but am very disappointed. It does not heat up enough for getting wrinkles out of cottons, and on the highest setting I can lay my hand on the fabric right after ironing over it----it feels warm, not hot to the touch as it should. Every iron I've ever owned has been hotter than this one, even the cheap ones. It's also awkward to fill and doesn't steam very much without my having to push the button.
