The heater pictured is different from one I ordered and recieved. I think I got a newer model, I had the one pictured for several years and it worked fine. The one I recieved does not work on all settings, only low. It worked fine when I first got it and now after a few weeks it does not. I use it in my office and it is quite and would be fine if it worked and didnt shut off on some settings. Not sure if I just dot a defective heater.
Compact and inexpensive Holmes heating unit -- 2010-02-10
The heaters are relatively inexpensive and very compact. Overall, I think they are worth the money. The only complaint with the unit is that, unlike a lot of others I've had, it doesn't automatically shut off upon tipping. The manual says it will shut off if tipped, but it isn't immediate. Would prefer to see that safety feature improved, however I may be missing something. The unit remains cool on the outside and presents less hazard in a lot of ways to others, so a plus there.

I bought this last year for my home office. It works great. Just what I was looking for. It's attractive, it oscillates and it keeps the room (small room 10 X 10) just right for when I'm working on the computer. :o)

Heater is extremely light but rugged. The automatic cycling features work very well. A bit noisy but only upon start-up, after which it is a white noise that is actually helpful while sleeping.

Love it, solid and simple. Dosent shut off via timer. The temp sensors dont seem 100% accurate but it works good enough! We bought two of them.

I love this product so much that we have three of them. It's powerful, safe, quiet and solid, all the qualities I looked for.
We have a 2100 sq ft. home on three floors with no central heating only a gas fireplace in San Francisco. These space heaters are perfect for us and very cost effective. I purposely won't install central heating since it's really not necessary here. Our electric and gas bills have averaged $120/mo. so far this year. Also this gives us focused heat only where we need it.
Safety is also an important feature since we have an autistic child in the house.

This heater was bought as a gift for my parents in FL. It is quiet and does help to heat their apt. Mother has raved about it ever since she received it. It was especially timely, given Florida's cooler than normal weather this winter season.
It arrived quickly as ordered, and is lightweight and easy for my 79 yr old mother to move from area to area to help keep my 82 yr old semi-invalid father warm. A reliable product that does what it is advertised to do.

I put this unit in my sons room, the coldest room in the house to supplement for a wood stove in the living room. It raises the temp in a 12 by 14 room by 5 degrees in about 20 minutes. It cycles on and off and is very cheap to run. I am pleased and will be buying more for my shop and to have on hand as a back up heat source.
worth replacing -- 2010-04-23
As a long time pelonis owner, I replaced it with a new pelonis that is very much like the original. The first one lasted at least 15 years. It would have been senseless to replace it with something inferior. We use it in conjunction with central heat, to keep the central heat from warming up areas we are not occupying. This also helps with the utility bill.

Perfect for office -- 2010-09-02
I bought this heater after reading reviews on Amazon and other websites. My office is too cold. If I wear a skirt in the summer, I have to go outside to warm up every couple of hours. I needed a heater that is small and quiet enough that nobody would notice when I hide it under my desk. This is just the perfect one! It is not bulky at all, and the noise level is well below my expectation. I can only hear it working if I put my ear within 1 feet of it. Otherwise, complete silence in my office. Very happy with my purchase so far. Don't know about the quality yet, but I hope it will last a while.
only good for personal heater -- 2010-03-26
Don't buy this Sunpentown SPT SH-1507 if you are using it to heat an area its only good for personal heater. Heat comes out ok but very poor projection only 2ft after that you can't feel anything. Using this unit in 10x12 bathroom it does not do the job at heating it you can't even feel it unless you are next to it. Not what I expexted, I don't understand why so many people rated this high.

Great Heater At A Great Price -- 2010-03-02
This heater compares favorably to the $300.00 Eden-pure and other similar heaters. I have 2 Eden-pures in the house, and bought the Lasko heater after researching heaters with similar features ie; squirrel cage fans, adjustable thermostats, and 1500 watt heating elements. The main diference is between the Eden-pure with it's infrared quartz heating elements and the Lasko and it's ceramic element. I was concerned that the ceramic might not be as economical to operate, but this turned out not to be the case. I bought the heater in Nov and the Lasko heats my insulated 12X 16 Ft. shop in southern Idaho to 70 even when its down to +10 degrees.

Made way too much noise for an oil filled heater. It sounded like Gremlins were trying to break out of it. I returned it.

Very warm and quiet. We use it in our unheated cabin bedroom in Northern MN and it really keeps the chill at bay. The only thing we noticed was the timer was preset and turned off automatically after a few hours.
