Cool Mist Nursery Humidifier -ElephantCool Mist Nursery Humidifier -Elephant

Great so far -- 2010-05-13
We bought this product about 2 weeks ago to replace a broken brookstone one. So far we love it.

We live in Los Angeles, so it is pretty dry here especially when we're running the heat. We have it set to about 25%, which is the point where we found the water instantly get absorbed into the air, and it was comfortable in our bedroom (probably 400 sq ft). We're moving it to the baby's room since she's sleeping in her own room now, and decided to buy another crane humidifer

Pros:
- Ample humidity at 25%, and only need to refill the tank every 3-4 days
- Cute looking
- Never seen water below it (I assume the negative rating users has it set too high or got a faulty product)
- Fairly quiet

Cons:
- I get water all over the place when replacing the water. Usually there is a some water left at the bottom which required special handling I guess, and I haven't quite mastered it.

Good humidifier -- 2010-05-09
So far this humidifier is been great. I had the penguin design and I always had leaking problems.

Humidifier -- 2010-03-14
Operationally its five stars all the way. My wife thinks its looks could be improved.i.e. it has a "too plasticy" look. Service (getting it operational) via telephone was concise and correct.

Functional but cheap -- 2009-12-30
This unit might be a fine humidifier but the fit and finish of the components is horrible. The casters are almost impossible to seat properly, in fact I broke one and am now trying to get a replacement. It may work but I would not buy this again.

snoring fades to dull roar -- 2010-01-31
I got these to save my marriage...they work...well enough so that his snoring is muted. I am grateful for a good nights sleep.

Audio headset works great -- 2008-01-07
This noise-cancelling headset works very well. We use it for medical transcription (with an adaptor plug to connect with Dictaphone transcription station) and it allows the transcriptionist to focus on the dictation without distraction from conversations and noise around her. In addition, it provides excellent sound quality.

Vicks V1300 Portable Steam TherapyVicks V1300 Portable Steam Therapy

steam therapy -- 2010-04-05
This is ideal for a teenager's use and for traveling. Was not what I expected. It will be ideal when I take trips and need therapy without the hassle of taking a big one. I should have paid more attention to the deminsions of the product before purchase. I would advise for purchase to help small children with colds and hayfever to help them with their discomfort.

Misleading - this one does not have heat - it's just a plastic cup w/ a funnel for your face -- 2009-11-04
I ordered this late in the night a few days ago when my husband was coughing and congested. I THOUGHT I was ordering a product that actually produced steam. The design looks so similar to the Vicks model that DOES produce steam and I think that;'s intentional. This product is no better than boiling water in a kettle, pouring it into a bowl, placing a towel over your head and the bowl and breathing in! I tried something very similar to this from another manufacturer and they just don't work. This one even says you cannot use boiling water in it - the plastic it is made of can't handle that high of a heat.

I am hoping to return this and purchase the Vicks Personal Steam Inhaler which is what I wanted to by al along. That product has great reviews with people saying it gives great relief. Follow the link and buy THAT one instead! For the $4 to $5 more, it appears to be worth the money. I just wished I hadn't been so bleary eyed from sleep deprivation when I was ordering the first time.

Crane Cool Mist Humidifier, LeopardCrane Cool Mist Humidifier, Leopard

Great ornament! -- 2010-05-19
Lenny the leopard is a great topic of conversation when I have visitors to my home. He is a funny character! He work for a single use and since then sits around like a true cat and does nothing. I take the loss of money I paid for him to be a humidifier as a lesson to myself. I will elsewhere for such needs in the future. Sorry Crane company, I have no time for your ineptitude.

So if you want a fun ornament for your house like me, buy one. If you want a humidifier then find a company that actually makes one.

Works great and is adorable! -- 2010-03-21
I love this cool mist humidifier for my little guys room. To start off - it's adorable. It's also incredibly easy to clean and refill. While it stands a bit higher than typical humidifiers do, it's bottom and feet are sturdy enough that a bump from a toddler won't send it toppling over.

Paradigm System PSH 3Paradigm System PSH 3

Excellent Performance -- 2008-04-09
I own a large humidor and had been struggling to maintain optimum humidity. I installed in it two large humidification devices made by Ashton. These devices were sold to me by my local cigar shop and were praised as the best on the market. The Ashton devices were costly and largely ineffective. So I began searching Amazon for a product to replace my unsuccessful Ashtons. I came across the Paradigm System PSH 3 and purchased it with much hesitation. When I first ordered one, there were very few reviews or information available online. In shear frustration I took a shot and bought one. When the PSH 3 arrived, I saturated it in distilled water as instructed and installed into my stocked humidor. Within ten days, my hydrometer gradually rose from 59% to 70%. The PSH 3 has maintained this humidity level for well over two months now. I have taken the unit out and inspected it and have found that it is completely free of mold (much to my surprise). I acknowledge that cigar maintenance is a tricky science and would recommend this product to anyone who seeks satisfactory humidity in their humidors.

Vicks V5100N 1.7 Gallon Ultrasonic HumidifierVicks V5100N 1.7 Gallon Ultrasonic Humidifier

works great! -- 2010-01-02
After endless reviews of humidifiers, i chose this one. Actually, i was getting quite frustrated and bought this one, feeling like they all stick and nothing is going to make me happy anyways. well, i was wrong. i chose this mid-price model and definitely got my moneys worth. i have been using it less than a month, but am very happy. it holds a gallon, but i use the mid-setting and the gallon lasts me two nights, plus a little extra. i found if i left it on the highest setting, the mist settled on my floor because i keep the room temperature too cold(which i need to sleep!)But even at the highest setting, it is very quiet. it has never leaked either. the only downfall is there is no automatic shut off. but for me, it doesnt matter. even after 2 nights(9-10 hours) there is some water in the reserve so i shut it off when i wake up. great buy in my opinion!

DO NOT BUY! SCARY -- 2009-07-29
Both me and my husband got really sick with fever after just one use. The mist has a really stinky smell and it's not quiet at all. I would give it a zero or negative stars if I could!

Dr. Fresh Disney Pooh HumidifierDr. Fresh Disney Pooh Humidifier

good, but pain to clean -- 2010-07-01
The product is good, works well, but you have to keep it clean. You have to clean it every few days as water starts to stick to the plastic and it starts to get sticky in the inside. The cleaning can get annoying quickly.

Just so, so. -- 2010-05-19
The Cons:

-The filter doesn't work. I have had mineral build up from day 1.
-It stopped working after only 3 months of use. The night light still works. The red/green indicator light still turns on. But no mist comes out of the ears. It's as if the system isn't getting any water. I've considered that the mineral build up has somehow blocked it up. But I'm not sure. I cleaned it regularly when I was using it regularly. But the last time I used it I let the water sit in the bottom portion for about 2 months. That might have something to do with it not working now.

The Pros:

-It sprays a GREAT amount of mist. I've created a fog bank in my daughter's room because I had it set too high lol.
-It sprays in 2 directions.
-It's very quiet.
-Night light has on/off switch.
-It's adorable!

Buy it with a 20% off coupon from Babies R Us, or at a discount price from the Amazon Marketplace. Don't pay full price because it could end up crapping out on you real quick.

Venta LW44 Air Humidifier and Purifier All-in-oneVenta LW44 Air Humidifier and Purifier All-in-one

impossible to clean -- 2009-12-07
Venta advertisement makes this unit so attractive, but wait ... they don't tell you what a nightmare you get after a few months of usage. It is simply impossible to clean the rotating disks. These disks get clogged up with bacteria, minerals, dirt and mildew. I spent 2 hours yesterday and still could not clean it well enough. They say that you can wash the disks in the dishwasher (using cold water and no detergent - tell me how can you wash anything in these conditions?). I don't think so. I even used a toothbrush and still no results, lot of time wasted. So you get a dirty unit that will remain dirty no matter what you do. This is a very very bad engineering.
Next thing - very inconvenient to refill with water. The tank has no handles, it is big and heavy... unless you have a hose in the bathroom it is not a simple task to refill this unit. Then the water gets into small holes on the sides of the tank and eventually ends up on the floor. I had to use a plastic tray (not included) under the unit.
Finally the price is ridiculous. What are you charging me for? A huge piece of plastic and a fan? You know, I can grow bacteria someplace else and totally free of charge.
Venta does not want you to take this unit back to the store where you purchased it. Wrong! I took it back and got a refund. Bye bye Venta. I hope not to see you again.

Simple, Effective, I like! Expensive True -- 2009-10-23
I researched many humidifiers [...] of all types and found that I wanted a COOL air humidifier. From experience with a big, cheap evaporation wick/filter type humidifier, they can be a real bother changing filters, scale build up, worrying about bacteria etc. I do like fans, because the noise is a good background white noise to sleep by. At work I have a small ultrasonic humidifier that creates white dust that can be hard to remove from metal surfaces and if left to run constantly, requires the table it sits on to be covered with something waterproof. The table was not just damp it was wringing wet!

After reading the reviews here on Amazon about particular humidifiers I decided that I was going to go with the Venta LW44 humidifier/cleaner. The situation at my house is we burn wood all winter long and the air gets dry and dirty. I bought a indoor temp/humidity gauge to monitor how well this new, expensive unit works.

What I like about the Venta:
- sturdy, simple construction
- no filters
- a simple fan
- the disk array that cleans the water is sturdy and pulls out as one unit
- a sturdy container that holds a lot of water (especially compared to some of the other humidifiers)
- it works naturally, as the air gets more humid less water is pulled thru the unit. That and the 3 speeds allows for easy regulation and there isn't the worries about sophisticated regulators breaking.
- the lid lifts off easily and I use a big container to fill the humidifier up. I do it daily because it's so easy and quick and I keep it topped off all the time.
- cleaning the humidifier was easy for me. The air in my house is dirty due to the wood stove. Sure the unit did get dirt inside as it is suppose to but it wasn't any big deal to clean because the unit comes a part with 3 big pieces - top with fan and motor, plastic disc array, bottom water container. NO FILTERS YEA! A bottle of cleaner is used.
- every 14 days I add a bottle of additive that makes the unit work better and helps prevent bacteria, scale etc.
- I like the oils that come with the unit. Interesting that one reviewer disliked them so much. They are actually essential oils so they aren't artificial.
- I can't prove it, but I feel like the air is cleaner. I use to have naggy low-grade sinus issues every winter as soon as the wood stove was put into use. Not this year so far, granted it's only been a month with the wood stove going. My eyes feel less dry. I'm digging the better air!

The unit works really well. When I first setup the unit the humidity gauge read low humidity. The wood stove was cranking out the heat. I turned the unit on (it sits in our big living room that is connected to two bedrooms and a dining room and kitchen so the room is the middle of the house) and in about 2 hours the humidity was up to a good reading of 53% humidity at 68 F temperature. So far, even the rest of the house stays at a good humidity.

As long as the humidifier doesn't break down, then I am super satisfied!! Yep, the unit is expensive but it works and the maintenance is not as much of a hassle as my other units.

Honestly, right now there is NOTHING I don't like about the unit.
