Customer Reviews
Awesome bang for the buck -- 2010-09-06 I have few complaints about this unit. I use it as a small desk fan and it does the job. While hard to complain about, a minor complaint would be that I would like a slightly wider stream of air, despite knowing how small the unit is. Other than that, it's a no-nonsense quiet fan with easy digital controls. I would recommend this to anyone that needs a desk fan or a fan for a small area of use.
Lasko fan -- 2010-08-27 I am happy with the fan overall. The only complaint that I have is that due to its small size and lack of weight it takes two hands to operate the push button controls.
Relief from the heat -- 2010-08-26 I just moved to a workspace where the temperature is much too warm for my comfort. My desk is quite small so after reviewing the options I purchased the Lasko 4000. The low speed is more than sufficient to keep me cool and I love that it oscillates without making any additional noise. My traditional fans always seem to rattle and vibrate. That said, the fan is not completely silent but it certainly is not extremely loud either. I don't agree with the complaints about it being too noisy. Right now I have it on the low setting and I can still perfectly hear my radio which is turned down quite low, the people around me talking on their phones and even the person in the next cube chewing her ice. The high speed is noisier, but still, not so much that one can't talk on the phone or hold a conversation with it on.
I'm going to purchase a second one for my bedroom. The footprint is small enough that I will be able to place the fan on my night stand without interfering with the other items there. Either speed isn't so noisy that it will prevent sleeping.
Great fan -- 2010-08-25 This is a really nice fan. I'm bringing it with me to college so I need something small but powerful. This little fan will fit perfectly on my desk. It has a good level of air flow but I was hoping for something a little quieter. It's still better than most fans, especially for the price.
Bedside Fan -- 2010-08-24 I got this fan to help keep me cool in my room at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. It sits on a box next to my bed and works great for what I need. I have a bigger fan in the door to bring cooler air in and this one next to the bed. The lights on the front are pretty bright and can be annoying, but I put duct tape over them to darken them up a little. It also sometimes has a little rattle from the fan, but it hasn't caused me to lose any sleep yet. All in all, it has been very good for me and I only wish the lights on the front were darker or could be dimmed.
