THis iron is really great. It is all steel. If your trying to find an iron it would be best to use Black and Decker the classic Iron.

Not As Good As It Used To Be -- 2010-08-23
I had one of these irons before; it was great, but I dropped it too many times. The new one doesn't heat up as well, and the auto cut-off feature keeps it from steaming consistently Definitely a design flaw. Yoo Hoo Black and Decker. Are you listening?

Classic is BETTER! -- 2010-08-07
With all the new irons out there, nothing beats the traditional full metal classic. You get a crisp, flat press every time on your clothing. I have tried the others and an thrilled to have the original back!

Great Iron! (for a week) Replacement Iron Better. -- 2010-07-29
This iron worked great for me...for a week. The weight, heat all was what I expected, that is until it turned schizo! This iron has a auto-shutoff feature. It's supposed to turn off automatically after 30 seconds when on it's side or soleplate or after 8 minutes when upright and inactive.

Well, the monster I was sent turns off when you're ironing, when you're not ironing, or whenever it pleases. Sit it upright after it's turned off while ironing and it'll come back on. Seems to be classic example of great idea and bum technology to make it work properly.

My seller won't exchange it since I didn't keep the box, and B&D warranty wants me to pay the shipping on this heavy beast. Talk about luck. The iron doesn't work and I still got burned :(

Update:
The vendor decided to do a replacement on the iron and it's now performing as I expected. It's not a bad product, I just got a bad unit.

wonderful iron -- 2010-06-16
I iron a lot and the newer ones don't get hot enough and do not last! This is the one I always go back to. This iron gets hot and is a great iron. The only negative might be that it's heavy, but that's part of what I like!
