Nice board, cover and pad should be immediately disposed of -- 2010-07-24
The board is nice and wide and makes ironing much easier than a normal-sized board. Also, the board I have is VERY stable, which is great. Opens and closes smoothly, although I do have to reassemble it once a year since for some reason it falls apart after a while. The pad has been a nightmare and had I known that I could get a cover that fit well from Bed, Bath and Beyond, I would have done so a couple of years ago when I bought it. The pad that comes with the board has no straps on the bottom so it moves around, it's thin, and it crumples up at the edges. It finally got so thin that an imprint of the metal mesh of the ironing board itself was showing through the pad and I was getting a triangular pattern from the depressions in the pad! Got the new pad today and it fits perfectly. It has velcro straps on the bottom to hold the pad in place and it's thick, too. Even given these problems, I'd get the ironing board again since I don't see anything out there that as good as this one.
Sturdy, Wide, Stylish -- 2010-06-22
As mentioned by others, the ironing board is tall - adjustable to 3 different heights, strong, well built and wider than it appears. Inspite of the curvish legs, which gives a very stylish look - the ironing board is very sturdy, heavy, rooted to the ground and stable.
Its been more than 3 months, that I have been using this and havn't found any faults as yet.
Just 4 stars, since its bit expensive.
Beautiful and functional ironing board -- 2010-06-22
Didn't know what I was missing! I iron a lot! This board is wide, sturdy and has an extruded mesh top so you don't get big wet spots on the ironing board cover (as I did previously from a board with tiny holes in the metal). This board is elegant looking - which is a great thing, particularly if you leave your ironing board up and on display for a few days at a time.....Worth every penny. AND, it arrived perfectly packaged - no dents or dings from Amazon with free shipping! I wondered how they could deliver an ironing board - but it was not a problem. Also the top of the board is wide which is great for ironing larger items and the rounded end is an excellent shape for men's shirts and general ironing projects.
ANOTHER GREAT ROWENTA PRODUCT -- 2010-05-17
I love this Rowenta ironing board! After ordering it on Amazon, it came within a week in perfect condition. The first great thing I saw was the amount of quality metal construction under the board with the metal groves to adjust the height. My ironing boards in the past have been light weight, end caps come off, the lever to collapse the board to close would not work many times...very frustrating. The Rowenta construction is awsome and will be my "lifetime" board! The second best feature is the length and width of it. One can place 1/2 a T-shirt, whole placemat, entire long pant leg on top with a lot of room left...faster ironing time. It will be good for pressing curtains and valances, also. It has an iron holder that I don't use since the instructions weren't too detailed and am uncomfortable resting my hot iron on it. I really don't need the holder since the board itself is so LARGE...looks like a surfboard! It is somewhat heavy but worth the effort. I also ordered an extra cotton cover for this board from Amazon to have when one is in the wash. It is a pleasure to iron on this awsome Rowenta ironing board! I've ordered many other products from Amazon...great products, price and customer service.
Wonderful Ironing Board -- 2010-04-26
I have owned many ironing boards in my life, largely because most of them have been inexpensive and very disappointing. So, they eventually end up being donated or in the trash. Although this ironing board is pricey, it is worth every penny. It is sturdy, doesn't wobble, and adjusts easily to my 5'10" height for comfort of use. Not only do I use it for ironing clothes, but also I am a quilter and it accommodates large pieces of cloth easily because of its length and width. I have a feeling that this one will last the rest of my lifetime. I would recommend this ironing board to anyone.
